About the job:

Are you curious? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering inconsistencies?

Saxo is on a journey to strengthen its Data Governance Initiative – an initiative that aims to ensure that data is delivered to our business in a clear, compliant, and consumable matter for the entire organization. To accelerate this journey, we are building the Data Quality & Control Function and looking for a Data Quality Analyst.

The Data Quality Analyst will support the Functional Lead in ensuring that operating procedures, work instructions and data controls are implemented and working as intended, to ensure that the necessary target quality standards for our critical data are established, monitored, and resolved. They will independently coordinate, collaborate, and drive data quality improvements and controls within a specific pre-defined critical data domain, in collaboration with data domain owners and data stewards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current state of data quality for critical data domains, with help of domain data owners and stewards.

  • Assist data domain owners and data stewards in identification of Critical Data Elements within their assigned data domains.

  • Ensure data quality rules are identified, risks assessed, and appropriate target thresholds defined.

  • Identify optimal approaches for resolving data quality or consistency issues to achieve targets.

  • Monitor and track ongoing data fidelity (e.g., quality and consistency) levels and other metrics that assess the adherence of data and people to data governance policies.

  • Ensure data cleansing activities are allocated for correction of data quality flaws that cannot be addressed fully by automated means.

  • Your profile:

The ideal candidate should possess a balanced blend of business acumen and IT expertise. Saxo has a client-centric focus, which requires the candidate to comprehend data analysis and issues from a business standpoint. It is a requirement for this role to be able to collaborate with and communicate across department and business units in the organization. The nature of the department is analyzing data stemming from other business units, so findings, scoping and collaboration of fixing issues will take place across the value chain.

Besides this, the candidate must be self-driven and interested in learning how the business works. Experience with the platform itself or with other financial institutions is a plus, but the right attitude can go a long way if other elements are missing.

    Specific skills include:

  • Understanding of how data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomes.

  • Experience with data analysis of big data sets using SQL, Power BI, and Excel.

  • Experience with Databricks would be an advantage.

  • Solid project management skills to guide point-in-time and ongoing targeted data quality projects.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the importance and impact of data (or bad data) on the ability of the business to meet its own objectives.

  • Facilitation and conflict resolution skills to assist in resolving the different points of view and requirements that invariably collide during cross-team and cross-organization efforts.

  • Deadline for applications will be the 12th of May 2024.

We will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis.
