As Head of Legal Affairs, reporting to the CEO of MyDefence, it will be your responsibility to set the legal strategy and approach in alignment with the larger organizational goals for complex legal projects that span legal, business, and functional boundaries (e.g., cross geographies, subject matter areas, jurisdictions, organizations, and business models).
You will be responsible for providing legal guidance on a wide range of legal matters and to be the main legal contact within the organization. You are also expected to build strong and amicable relationships with global colleagues, legislative and business authorities, and outside legal counsel etc. Further, you will be responsible for keeping up to date with the latest directives and laws influencing the business, to support the organization with proper and fit legal due diligence in MyDefence activities across the international group.
As Head of Legal Affairs you will perform complex legal work across all departments and international boundaries and consequently, you will be a natural sparring partner across the organization to ensure legal compliance from A-Z. Therefore, you must be able to effectively navigate and interact among several different employee groups with a very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness, especially strategical legal issues will involve a close association and coordination with C-level management as well as middle management. You must also be able to participate in the development of the business, including goal setting for legal matters, and be the one who maintains a holistic view of the entire legal compliance of the company.
Education: A strong educational background in law and preferably also in business administration.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably from a similar position within a large organization, which MyDefence will grow into.
Legal areas: In-depth legal expertise, with an understanding of legal principles and practices, alongside specific knowledge in the realm of contract law, employment law, intellectual property, and litigation.
Industry: It is a significant advantage if you have demonstrated experience from the defence industry, as well as from civilian markets
Strategic legal insight: Strong strategic and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex legal concepts and analysis regarding understanding business operation and objectives, permitting provision of legal advice aligning with business strategy.
Language skills: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English.
Structured, detail oriented and hands on: Strong project management skills with an excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and you like being hands-on with the tasks.
Strong communicator and relationsbuilder: Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and relational skills, and you are able to communicate in an assertive and clear manner to those who have a strong understanding of the law, and those with novice knowledge. Further, you possess a strong ability to collaborate across departments and develop and maintain strong partnerships both internally and externally.
Effective change manager: Experience exercising influence and managing change while having an open and inclusive tone and a solution-oriented mindset.
Master of prioritization: Ability to skillfully prioritize challenging tasks within the portfolio.
Unwavering integrity and work ethic: A very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness as well as a strong work ethic and require minimal direction.
Independent and driven: Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organizatio and the ability to keep calm when the pressure is high.
Approachable and flexible: A pleasant, empathetic, agile and adaptable team member.
