Main purpose of the job

Understand Health & Safety issues/opportunities and clearly communicate solutions to a broad stakeholder base, convincing people to change their methods and beliefs through educating, then motivating individuals to sustain changed behavior. Achieve a level of Health and Safety excellence that leads the sector.

Key responsibilities:

1) H&S Policies and Procedures

• Promote good health, safety and environmental practices throughout all site activities.
• Review the site Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statements on an annual basis.
• Ensure that Local Policy Statements/Fire Plans and Fire Risk Assessments are produced and quality assured.
• Devise, develop and monitor effective Risk Assessment management strategies and make recommendations on the implementation of these strategies
• Consult with senior managers and other line managers and give appropriate advice on formulating best-practice policies and procedures.
• Provide independent professional advice and technical information where appropriate to senior managers and all line managers to enable the site to discharge its statutory, common and moral obligations, keeping staff and Managers abreast of changes in HS&E Legislation and Codes of Practice.
• Work with managers and Production Supervisors to provide, or where necessary source, training for staff in relation to Health and Safety policies, practice and procedures.
• Provide technical support to projects to advise on environmental impacts and aspects.

2) Monitoring Performance

• Propose, implement and monitor KPIs and statistics measures necessary to comply with H&S Legislation and Codes of Practice
• Carry out or arrange workplace safety audits and ensure that any remedial recommendations are implemented.
• Ensure that statutory requirements are being upheld throughout the organisation. Display Screen Equipment, Risk Assessments etc. To include task based risk assessments.

3) Health and Safety

• Maintain safety statistics and KPIs, analyse trends and propose and take remedial action where necessary, feedback analysis at weekly and monthly meetings.
• Ensure all accidents and near misses are investigated thoroughly in line with site procedures and that follow up actions are closed out in a timely manner. Where necessary prepare reports to the enforcing authority as required by the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations.
• Liaise as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and provide assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
• Develop procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers, consultants and other irregular visitors to the site comply with relevant legislation and site safety policies.
• To undertake site safety inspections in conjunction with appointed representatives and members of the site H&S Committee.
• Ensure the implementation of the site Fire and Evacuation Procedure and monitor its effectiveness by undertaking fire evacuation drills on all sites at least twice per financial year.
• Provide secretarial support and health and safety advice to the committee
• Maintain compliance legality for site, to include Legionella, Asbestos, fire safety, first aid etc.
• Maintain PPE requirements for site

Personal Competencies and Qualifications:

We are in search of an individual with 2-3 year demonstrated history of facilitating Health & Safety initiatives, ideally within a fast paced production facility. Experience with driving transformative change is essential, complemented by a natural curiosity to develop into the H&S area. Training and education will be provided.

• Experience in Health and Safety legislation, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience, ideally within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in collaborating with international and culturally diverse teams, showcasing your ability to adapt and thrive in multicultural work environments.
• Exceptional networking skills, enabling you to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders and partners to drive collaboration and achieve common goals.
• Fluency in Danish is essential, with proficiency in English considered advantageous, facilitating seamless communication across various stakeholders.
