The position
Your primary tasks will consist of, but are not limited to: Generate high quality LC-MS proteomics data supporting biomarker discovery and quantification. Conduct qualitative and quantitative proteomics analysis in diverse biological models. Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. Drive or assist in the development of new methods and setups. Critically analyse experimental data and prepare clear, well-documented reports and presentations. In addition, you proactively identify and resolve experimental issues, take interest in identification and progress of novel technologies. You will work closely together with other Laboratory Technicians and Scientists within the department on a day-to-day basis. Qualifications To qualify for the position, we envision that: You hold a technician degree. You have a minimum of 3 years of working experience in an academic or industry research environment. You have a strong commitment to high quality sample analysis, data handling, documentation, and reporting. You have experience with LC-MS and proteomics workflow including sample handling, protein extraction, LC-MS operation and data processing. You are proficient in spoken and written English. It would be considered as an advantage if you: Have hands-on experience working with Orbitrap mass spectrometer and nano-LC systems and are comfortable with handling large datasets. Have experience working with LC-MS based metabolomics and peptidomics. Have experience with automation technologies and data science. As a person you are structured, curious, like to step out of your comfort zone and continuously challenge yourself. You have a can-do attitude and are a problem solver. You find it easy to build relationships between team members and gain recognition amongst stakeholders with your enthusiasm, proactiveness, integrity, and communication skills.
