Are you motivated by the opportunity to play a key role in the development of new major strategic initiatives within cardiometabolic disease? The Novo Nordisk Foundation is looking for two Scientific Managers with a background within the cardiometabolic area. As part of the Foundation’s 2030 Strategy, support to research and development activities within prevention and treatment will be targeted towards cardiometabolic diseases, and the Scientific Managers will be key in preparing funding in this area. The two positions will be allocated within the Clinical medicine department (one position) and the Cardiovascular medicine department (one position), according to best fit with interest and qualifications.
Medical Science is advancing research that increases the knowledge of health, wellbeing, and disease, with the potential to solve serious challenges and improve healthcare performance. There are currently three closely integrated teams within the Medical Science area that support the process from basic discoveries translated to clinical care, Biomedicine, Clinical Medicine, and Cardiovascular Medicine.
You will work in either our Clinical Medicine team or our Cardiovascular Medicine team. You will be a key part of developing coming strategic research projects and contribute to our grant giving areas, mainly within clinical research and the Steno Diabetes Centers. There will be multiple interaction points with external stakeholders as well as other departments within the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The Role
As Scientific Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and contributing to defining the scope of our plans within the clinical cardiometabolic field. You will map out national and international activities and strongholds for cardiometabolic research and development opportunities by:

Professional and personal Qualifications
We are looking for two Scientific Managers, preferably with an MD background and a PhD within the cardiometabolic field. You have ideally worked in one of the cardiometabolic specialties or, alternatively, have a background from the pharmaceutical industry within cardiometabolic therapy areas.
