Part Time Showroom Sales Coordinator

We are seeking a bright, confident and professional individual to join our fantastic client; a leading retail destination in Burnham Market, Norfolk. Our client are an independent retailer of tiles, flooring, stoneware, gifts and interior items and cater to an exclusive market of style-conscious customers!

This is a involved, yet part-time position that does require some degree of flexibility given that our client are still a small business and are increasingly busy! There are core hours of 25.5 per week based around at least 2 weekdays and 1 Saturday each week (one Saturday off per three worked). As our client are a retail operation, flexibility and the ability to work on weekends, bank holidays etc. is very important.

The role itself will be a busy yet fun and satisfying position for the right character. Based at our clients beautiful, incredibly impressive luxury showroom and gardens, it is important that those interested in applying consider themselves style-focused and have a real appreciation of quality, luxury interior and garden products. Also, importantly you must not be afraid of consultative sales and offering an incredibly high level of tailored customer service.

This varied, challenging and busy role will involve:

  • Welcoming customers to the showroom and ensuring they are appropriately looked after ascertain whether they wish to browse or require assistance with design ideas/purchases. Seize opportunities to gently but effectively persuade a sale.
  • Answering the telephone in a professional friendly manner; processing phone orders/enquiries, ensuring excellent customer service throughout calls
  • Supporting the effective management of the showroom; i.e. pricing of stock, replenishment, administrative support etc.
  • Effectively handing and processing customer problems and queries, working with diplomacy and speed
  • Managing trade accounts assisting with putting proposals together on product selection
  • Undertaking opportunities to strengthen product knowledge attending exhibitions, learning about products, undertaking self-driven research into new ranges etc.
  • Managing and using a sales lead management system; updating information, logging notes and following up where necessary

We are seeking a candidate who is extremely professional, confident and comfortable working in such a high-end, customer-facing showroom environment. The ability to get stuck into helping in other areas if need be is key though. No prior experience in a sales or a showroom environment is necessarily required, as this role is all about character and transferable skills as well as adaptability.

Other requirements for this position are as follows:

  • A genuine people person who enjoys delivering excellent customer service and making sales
  • Ambitious, organised, approachable and hard-working qualities
  • Excellent grasp of the English Language, spelling and grammar, as part of the role will entail proof reading advertisements and web content
  • A very pro-active and initiative-lead approach. Unafraid of asking questions and enjoys expanding knowledge base
  • Willingness to get stuck into learning a wide product range, applying oneself to learning product specifications and undertake a high level of training
  • Likes a varied and challenging role within a smaller company which sells unique and bespoke products, working as part of a small and very busy team.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport; must be confident in driving between the two showrooms Kings Lynn and Burnham Market (95% of time will be spent at Burnham Market)
  • An appreciation of good design, beautiful interior products and how to best interact with a high-end customer base
