Commodity Buyer/Purchaser - Multibrand Spare Parts

The Service & Spare Parts department is a newly established department designed to support Vestas Global Service Business and thereby end customers. Our strategic objective is to build a competitive advantage for Vestas in growing the Service area and making it even more powerful in the coming years. Given the dynamics of the after-market, and our dedicated wish to claim leadership in that market, you will join a fast-paced environment with a strong growth potential.

Responsibilities
We are in the process of building a strong global team focused on spare parts and repairs. The goal of this team is to deliver world-class sourcing and category management strategy; driving cost, quality and on time delivery. As a part of this team, we are now looking for a dynamic and ambitious Purchaser, who has the skills, passion, energy, and drive to contribute to this vision. Your daily responsibility areas and tasks are:

  • Identify new suppliers, technologies, and solutions in order to fulfil targets and KPIs
  • Partner with suppliers within local and international markets to manage objectives cost, delivery, quality, and safety
  • Lead purchase agreement negotiations with suppliers
  • Generate cost models, competitive bidding, and spend analysis driving cost objectives
  • Ensure that spare parts and main components are available within short lead times at most competitive price with quality - and fulfilling safety standards
  • Support the sourcing and category management strategy for Multibrand spare parts
  • Other tasks as assigned to allow for periodic (non-regular) or special projects that do not impact main functions of role

Qualifications
The target profile has a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a buyer/purchaser role with proven experience in large purchasing volume. We believe that your personality and drive is crucial for success in this role, but we are also looking for profiles whom for example have:

  • Experience with RFQ/RFI processes
  • A technical background; mechanical engineering or electrical engineering preferred; knowledge of Spare Parts, Repairs & Service for GE, GAMESA or SIEMENS wind turbines incl. main components
  • Knowledge of WTG OEM's supplier base and sourcing is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in understanding purchasing agreements, cost models, negotiation strategy, balancing business profitability, and customer needs
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and quality methodology skills. Recommends and drives improvement about the industry (pricing, trends, competitors, value drivers, etc.)
  • Strong PC computer skills (MS Office)
  • SAP (ERP) knowledge
  • Valid driver's license, ability to obtain passport. Travel is needed to meet business objectives
