Analytical Student Assistant for the Impact Area
Are you looking to kick-start your career? The Novo Nordisk Foundation is looking for an analytical student assistant (part-time) to join the Impact Area.

The Impact Area is responsible for data and analysis in the Foundation. We collect, organise, and analyse data from our grant recipients and from external sources to provide insight about the impact of our grant activities within public research, innovation, healthcare, and social and humanitarian efforts. We are responsible for driving evaluation practices in the Foundation and support project teams and applicants working to launch large initiatives.

To build competences and gain knowledge we are active in several external research projects within the areas of science-of-science, and economics of-science and innovation to learn what works and what does not work. This involves, e.g., use of computational skills, statistical methods, and skills within data science.

The Job
You will be working with the entire department and share the responsibilities for a number of key tasks with two other students. On a day-to-day basis, you will work with experienced colleagues on tasks such as:

  • Support for Grant Managers and grant recipients on our two reporting platforms, Researchfish and Foundgood
  • Extract, transform and combine data from our data warehouse and other sources, and construct variables for analysis
  • Perform descriptive and quantitative analysis and present them in exciting ways in figures
  • Replicate measures from research papers that we can use for analysis
  • Prepare presentations
  • Ad hoc tasks

The working hours will be approximately 15-20 hours a week with flexibility in relation to your studies.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with some of these qualities:

  • A bachelor within, e.g., economics, mathematical economics, computational sociology, data science, or the like, that provides you with a background for understanding the behavioural response of agents (individuals, groups, organisations) and the translation to an analytical strategy
  • Experience with and interest in social science, public policy, research, text analysis (NLP)
  • Experience with coding in SQL, Python or R, preferably but not mandatory
  • Experience with visualisation of data
  • Super user in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experienced user of statistical software, e.g. STATA or R
  • Proficiency in English and Danish (written and oral)

Personal Qualifications

What we are looking for in our new team member:

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, while able to maintain an overview
  • Flexible, highly self-motivated and can work independently but not afraid to ask for help/feedback
  • Contributes to a positive environment and wants to learn and develop
  • Has a collaborative mind-set

Working at the Novo Nordisk Foundation
We offer a committed and professional workplace in which we emphasize ensuring that our colleagues thrive, are challenged, and have opportunities to develop their potential. A career in the Novo Nordisk Foundation gives you the opportunity to work:

  • on important projects that benefit society;
