Our COP Bid Management & Offtake Team is looking for a Commercial Manager. The team current consists of ~ 20 people of which 3 are based in Korea and the position will be based in COP’s office in Seoul. This is a new role and exciting opportunity to learn about the renewable energy industry and strategic communications in a professional environment, as well as work with a team that is leading the charge to create a healthier planet. This position will report to the Commercial Director.
As part of the team, you will be instrumental in managing an extensive development portfolio covering both early stage development projects and more mature projects which have entered the Project Finance process towards Financial Close.
You will support initiatives including:
Develop, maintain, and operate business cases for offshore wind projects
Support financial modelling and valuation analysis of offshore wind projects
Support preparation of strategic decision material and financial updates to Senior management
Work together with industrial partners and advisers within financing, market researching, legal, and technical experts
Participate in any commercial agreements including offtake, partnerships, land acquisitions, compensations agreements, M&A etc.
Establish and maintain partnership with potential investors, offtakers, R&D institutions, government organizations, and local stakeholders as required by the project
Support and facilitate key decisions with comprehensive energy market analysis, regulatory framework monitoring, high-level market strategy for value improvement of projects
Update day-to-day reports and manage budgets of the projects as required
To succeed in this role, you have:
A major in finance, business, economics, energy related or similar and can demonstrate outstanding results from previous experience. The ideal candidate has 4-7 years of relevant experience from a similar position in a IPPs, large corporate, financial institutions, or a consultancy and possess the following skills:
Top academic performer with an interest in large and complex infrastructure projects
Experience from the energy sector and offshore wind industry is preferred
Experience with valuation, business cases, M&A processes and corporate finance
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-driven team player with an entrepreneurial mindset
Thrives in a mixed culture international business environment
Super user in Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills and ability to present and communicate complex matters
Fluent in Korean and English
