We are offering an exciting opportunity as Commercial Manager to be an important part in paving the way for Vattenfall and its customers and partners towards a fossil free future! 

As Commercial Manager you will be part of Central Commercial Management team in Commercial Management. You main responsibility will be to support and facilitate O&M Concepts and O&M Product projects as well as the commercial and contractual support towards targets and strategy, tender process, negotiations and finalization of contracts.

The Commercial Management is part of Operational Excellence group along with Process Management and Performance Analysis and Improvements. Operational Excellence is in charge of driving maturity in Operation and Maintenance and Commercial Management plays an important role in this. In Commercial Management we support the business by optimizing our contractual coverage, ensuring our commitment to our contractual obligations and aiming for improvement on our day-to-day cost.

What will you do?

  • Keep close alignment with O&M Concept Director and Category Manager to provide support on commercial/contractual issues and for meetings
  • Maintain close alignment with Risk Managers during project evaluations
  • Responsible for CoC of contract standard for the large O&M CAPEX contracts
  • Ensure alignment across all CAPEX contracts (horizontal), vertical alignment and quality (consistency)
  • Collect lessons learned from Commercial Managers in Generation for continuous improvement
  • Develop, draft and adapt CoC to the current market situation to make it fit for purpose
  • Alignment meetings with all Commercial Managers for improvements, framework and negotiation guidelines regarding contract standards and sparring on challenging topics
  • Supporting in comparison/evaluation of commercial deviation lists (toward set targets and strategy), during negotiations and supporting in finalization of contracts (ensuring fit with operations) as part of the launch team and handover to Generation

The work location can be Hamburg in Germany, Amsterdam in the Netherland, Kolding in Denmark and London in UK. Some travel (20 to 25 days a year) have to be expected.

You have the ability to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Furthermore, you have:

  • A degree in a commercial subject, legal, engineering or equivalent 
  • Commercial contract management experience in the offshore wind industry
  • Stakeholder engagement and management skills that enables you work closely and successfully with suppliers and other external and internal stakeholders
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Interest in strategic commercial management
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills
  • experience in Power BI is an advantage
