The Cost Engineer will drive the Should cost activities with Buy and Built to Print blade suppliers contributing to the negotiation. Cost Engineer supports PLM 4.0 with Cost Estimations of the new blades, bringing the input to the FPrice and QAPI with the DMC cost of the NPI products. This role is the Procurement representative in the cost out programs.

How to contribute to our vision
Defining together with the category managers and Global Buyers the proper strategy to implement the identified potentials (e.g. in supplier negotiations) Supporting the supplier development by identifying and evaluating supplier manufacturing cost and highlighting optimization potentials and/or related manufacturing risks Launching and following Cost analysis & Optimization projects for the suppliers Identifying the cost drivers per item, commodity and region, predicting its evolution in the following months. Determining rock-bottom cost / target cost as basis for the target setting per commodity Acting as an expert in your field of expertise in regard to cost drivers and manufacturing processes Development and usage of parametric methods and tools which can help the team to quickly estimate new designs Actively contributing to the product development / manufacturing process as well as implements cost reduction measures Aligning closely with R&D community Including suppliers and contributing to cost-benefit analysis workshops, innovation workshops and concept competitions with key suppliers. Conducting and providing market information/analyses on international technology Providing corresponding support for projects in lines of business for optimum input for workshops, scope of material and realization of saving potential Assessing and developing suppliers from a technological view Participating in workgroups and works in project Implements CVE as a cross-functional business practice with dedicated technical and analytical expertise by applying state-of-the-art methods, tools and expertise to increase competitiveness of our Siemens Gamesa products, solutions and customer projects in terms of customer value and related costs. Drive integration of state-of-the art Cost and Value Engineering in the business processes. Foster cross-functional mindset change towards cost and value awareness. Establish transparency in cost and value of products, systems and solutions and contribute improvement proposals to support PLM in Target Costing, R&D/Engineering in Design to Value, SCM in Supply Chain Productivity Improvement, Procurement in negotiations along the PLM / PM process. Contribute to competitiveness and profitability of Siemens Gamesa products and solutions through application of Cost and Value Engineering levers and methods. Support setting of competitive and at the same time achievable targets based on the assessment of customer requirements, competitors’ products and solutions and on a clear judgment on our own and our suppliers’ capabilities. Supports definition and optimization of product architecture and component specifications to ensure an adequate product and solution design. Supports building the appropriate supply chain by making the right supplier selections, offshoring or onshoring decisions, respectively, and applying make or buy appropriately. Supports achieving optimal commercial conditions by feeding our negotiations with precise information on our suppliers’ actual and expected costs. Foster a CVE network and Siemens-wide knowledge exchange and contribute expertise to the network. What you need to make a difference:
A relevant engineering degree Several years of experience with one or more of the following: procurement, design or manufacturing of specific component/technology Experience in Project Management and working in cross functional teams Assertiveness, proactiveness and result orientation Structured and hands-on approach to complex tasks Ability to work in international environment Excellent communication skills Good experience within Microsoft Office, SAP, Teamcenter Languages: fluent in English both orally and in writing In return of your commitment we offer you…
