The Position

As our new DCS System Manager you will be part of a team of currently 17 highly competent System Managers, Automation- and Data Engineers working across different automation and data technologies. The team is responsible for our DCS systems and associated infrastructure, which supports the production of our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Pilot factories in Bagsværd, Denmark.

You will play a key role in keeping our DCS systems operational and in compliance with Novo Nordisk requirements and thereby requirements from health authorities. To develop and deliver new products to our patients, it is essential for us to have stable and efficient automation systems, hence, you will be part of system upgrades as well as everyday operation and compliance tasks.

Furthermore, your responsibilities will be: 

  • System Management (e.g., Manage Users, Configuration, Changes, Risks, Supplier)
  • Troubleshooting on the system and infrastructure, incl. virtual environment and network 
  • IT Security management (e.g., implementing system hotfixes, patches, and anti-malware)
  • Continuity management (e.g., Monitoring of backups, Recovery) 
  • Life Cycle Management (e.g., system upgrades, hardware upgrades)

You will update system design documents (e.g., Functional Specification, Design Specification), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and guidelines for the system operational processes. Furthermore, you will work with Incident and Deviation Management and preparation of Change Requests. You will also perform annual User and Configuration Reviews as well as annual System Evaluations.

 

Qualifications

Regardless of your background, it is a prerequisite that you have a strong desire to achieve process knowledge and provide the best solutions in close cooperation with our stakeholders and our production.

As DCS System Manager you have an academic degree within BSc or MSc within Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field and need a proven track record in the following experiences/skills/abilities in the prioritized order:

To succeed in the role, you have:

  • Experience with DCS System and Infrastructure Management
  • Knowledge of server and IT infrastructure management e.g., patching, performance monitoring, network setup
  • Proficiency in English both verbally and written.

We work with the DeltaV/Sattline/800xA technologies; hence it will be an advantage if you have experience with one or more of these technologies. 

As our work is performed according to GMP, it is expected that you possess a systematic approach to your tasks, which you can plan and finalise. It is important that you ensure and initiate tasks even if they have not been assigned to you. Finally, we expect you to take responsibility for your own and the team's goals.

As person, you have a positive Can-Do attitude with a solution-oriented mindset and enjoys taking initiative and being proactive. You are a trusted and well-liked collaborator among our stakeholders due to your positive communication and collaboration abilities. You have a high energy level and the ability to spread enthusiasm and positive energy to those around you.

We need you to work full-time on-site in Bagsværd, Denmark, however some flexibility can be discussed and planned.

 

About the Department

As part of Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set. 

The IT & Automation team is organised within CMC API Pilots, where we work with implementing large- and small-scale automation solutions, ensuring stable and efficient operation of our IT & automation systems, keeping the systems in compliance, and ensuring data availability in our 6 Pilot factories.
