Renewables Certification (RC) belongs to business area Energy Systems and has the global responsibility for Type Certification (TC), Component Certification (CC) and Project Certification (PC) for Renewables. RC is the global market leader in the Renewables Certification market and is involved in 80% of Project Certification for offshore wind parks including offshore substations in the world.

We are looking for experienced electrical engineer, with a strong profile and interest in working with renewable energy. The work is related to certification of electrical installation for offshore substations and offshore converter platforms. The Section Offshore Substations department in addition work with offshore subsea cable designs and Wind Turbine designs.

As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will form part of a multidisciplinary team engaged in design verification activities in different disciplines as structural design, fire & safety, and E&I engineering either in our Hamburg or Esbjerg office. 

In this role you will:

  • Cover all steps in the certification process from review of early designs to design verification, fabrication surveillance, commissioning, and periodic inspection of installations in operation, 
  • Besides the technical work additional project management activities are expected in relation to the different projects.

    To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Electrical Engineering degree ( / or equivalent,
  • 4-5 years of relevant professional experience from a similar position, preferably from the consulting or engineering sector: oil&gas or renewable energy,
  • Generalist with broad experience in electrical engineering (power engineering or similar) with passion to dive into detailed design aspects of equipment and systems used in high- and low-voltage installations at the same time
  • Knowledge of relevant IEC standards and ideally the essential criteria concerning power system design and rating of components including but not limited to transformers, switchgear, cables, and battery systems,
  • Experience with manufacturing survey, FAT and offshore commissioning will be seen as positive,
  • Strong English skills (written and spoken). 
  • As a person you should be a team player with strong communication skills, able keep a positive and proactive attitude, with a solution-oriented, pragmatic, and flexible mindset. It is crucial to have strong customer centricity and ability to convey the added value of DNV services. Also the ability to work in depth with assignments and having a good balance between detail and overview is a key to succeed in this role.
