Global Commercial Director – IcoSema 

As our Global Commercial Director you will have the opportunity to lead, develop and drive the global go to market launch strategy for a new asset within Diabetes, IcoSema, a combination of once-weekly basal insulin (icodec) & once-weekly GLP-1 (semaglutide).

About the department


The Global Insulin Portfolio is globally responsible for developing and commercialising the insulin portfolio of both in-market products as well as driving the launch strategy and execution of two once-weekly assets. The unit is responsible for setting the global direction for the portfolio of brands in collaboration with global, regional and affiliate stakeholders. Driving portfolio strategies and ensuring strong tactical programs and tools are available to affiliates are also part of the unit’s key areas of responsibility.

You will join the global IcoSema marketing team, which consists of driven marketing professionals engaged in leading innovative commercial strategies and launches across the global organisation. 

The role is based in Denmark HQ, within Novo Nordisk’s Commercial Strategy & Corporate Affairs Organisation.

The position


As the Global Commercial Director of IcoSema you will work in a cross-functional matrix to ensure launch readiness of IcoSema. Currently, phase III clinical programmes are expected to be finalised in 2024 and the commercial team is preparing for launch.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:
• Lead the overall direction ensuring regions can successfully launch, driving analysis, segmentation and market approach, including deliver organisational analysis with recommendations on what efforts and resources are needed across the organisation. 
• Identify where and how to focus our launch activities in a very competitive market with substantial differences across regions.
• Set the direction to team members working on different elements of the brand strategy. 
• Navigate through the varying needs and conditions of the insulin market, which depend not only on regional differences, but also on how we maximise resources available locally.

Qualifications
• Academic degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Medicine, or other relevant degree.
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical marketing management experience preferably also commercial excellence and sales experience. 
• Strong track record of global, regional and/or local pharmaceutical launch experience, shaping and delivering go to market plans.
• Previous experience with delivering global commercial strategies with good understanding that tactical execution.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen to drive strong informed decision making coupled with problem-solving skills and a strong strategic tool-box.

As a person, you have strong stakeholder management skills and ability to drive complex decision making in a matrix organisation. As well, you have the ability to read and understand in-market data and drive key conclusions from market research and insights to influence choices.
