The position
As Global Portfolio Director, you will join a team dedicated to delivering top-quality quantitative and qualitative commercial assessments. Your responsibilities, focused on rare diseases and stem-cell based therapies, will include: Working within a drug candidate’s project team to coordinate commercial input to R&D Developing financial valuations of Novo Nordisk’s assets Delivering an annual review of Novo Nordisk’s development portfolio (Spring Review) Collecting data on market conditions and shaping it into actionable recommendations Working on a variety of ad-hoc commercial assessments that provide senior management with insights that enable strategic decision-making Daily, you will work with a network of internal colleagues from Early Research, Development, Marketing, Pricing & Access, Product Supply, and Strategic Finance. You will operate in a global context but interact primarily with HQ functions. Qualifications You will be a great asset to our team because you have: Essential A MSc or PhD in life science or equivalent technical / quantitative subject 6+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with experience in commercial/marketing, new product planning, or business development roles Financial acumen Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills Fluency in written and spoken English High proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel Nice-to-have Experience from a management consulting firm would be advantageous but not essential Experience in building business cases & financial models would be advantageous but not essential An existing understanding of rare diseases and stem-cell based therapies would be advantageous but not essential On the personal side, you have excellent interpersonal skills and love to work cross-functionally. Moreover, you take a structured approach to problem-solving, like to think outside of the box, and have a strong personal drive. About the department Insights & Portfolio Strategy – Rare Disease & Cell Therapy is a group of experienced business professionals who help to set the commercial direction of Novo Nordisk’s future treatments within the rare disease and stem-cell based therapy space. As part of this, the team provides commercial guidance, carries out asset valuations, monitors and assess the competitive landscape, and conducts market research.
