Group Financial Controller

We are looking for a Group Financial Controller to join us in A. Espersen A/S – one of Europe’s leading private label producers in the Frozen Fish category. Your tasks have a wide range within finance - from daily operations to strategic decisions, always in close collaboration with colleagues in Denmark and our teams in Poland, Lithuania and sales divisions.

The position offers a large amount of freedom to develop yourself and your skills, and as our new Group Financial Controller, we expect you to challenge our ways of working while helping to improve them. Furthermore, you need to have a good business understanding, being able to see the big picture, as you are expected to challenge internal stakeholders on their monthly/quarterly numbers.

Key responsibilities:

• Together, with our Senior Financial Controller and the Business Finance team, you will assist in the monthly closing and preparation and design of management reporting. You will control the correctness of the data and provide analysis and insight into the development of our business, so your stakeholders can act on the information. 

• Cashflow forecasting, short and long term.
• Foreign exchange risk management.
• Help to develop and optimize financial processes within Espersen.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
• Looking ahead you will also be part of designing our ESG reporting.

In addition, you will potentially be involved in other areas of the finance function, depending on your interests and experience.

The ideal candidate

We expect you to have experience within finance from a mid to large size organization with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in economics, business, finance or similar.

Further, you must have excellent Excel skills and it will be considered an advantage if you have experience with PowerBI.

Our corporate language is English, so we expect you to master this – both written and spoken. Danish language competencies will be considered an advantage.
