Position as Bioinformatician
A position as bioinformatician at the Haematology-Pathology Research Laboratory (HPRL), Odense University Hospital, is vacant as of 1 May, 2023.
We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to join our research group. HPRL is a research laboratory founded in collaboration between the Department of Haematology and the Department of Pathology. One of our main focuses is to conduct research to study the heterogeneity of malignant neoplasms. The current particular research focus is B-cell neoplasms. However, research activities in all haematological diagnoses are within the scope of the Laboratory. HPRL is part of CITCO, Centre for Cellular Immune Therapy of Hematological Cancer Odense, Odense University Hospital, Odense, Denmark.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of bioinformatics pipelines, analyses of sequencing data, visualization, and presentation of data, which will support essential research projects in the Laboratory.
Required qualifications:
The applicant is expected to have a PhD degree and strong qualifications within next-generation sequencing (NGS) bioinformatics. In addition, comprehensive knowledge within the field of haematology, especially the biology of B-cell neoplasms, and expert skills in presenting and communicating research data are required to qualify for the position.
The candidate must have practical experience in a wide range of Linux-based NGS analyses, from whole-genome or targeted deep sequencing, single-cell analyses, and long-read sequencing. High-performance computing will be implemented for the workflows.
In addition, it will be expected that the candidate will take part in the supervision of students.
Applicants will be expected to be highly motivated, reliable, able to manage projects, and interested in working in an interdisciplinary environment. Finally, a good command of the English language is a requirement.

The successful candidate will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
The position is financed by project funding.
