Senior Manager, API Production

The position
We are looking for two Senior Managers for API M1 (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Insulin Manufacturing I) at site Kalundborg. You will be part of a dynamic business area in constant development that produces Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for patients across the world. Each of the senior managers will manage team leaders in one of the following areas:
1)    Fermentation and Recovery
2)    Purification
 

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a group of highly skilled team leaders who are in charge of 15-20 operators each. You will be the link between the team leaders and the director.

You will play a key role in developing the department and continuously improving performance as well as delivering excellent results. You will also be responsible for coordinating and prioritizing resources and tasks in the operational part of the department, to ensure fulfilment of our ambition to obtain more capacity and stable production of high-quality products out of the facility. 
 

Your key responsibilities will be to:
•    Manage the team by hiring the right talent and developing the internal talent.
•    Provide clear direction, coach, and build your team's ability to effectively translate business priorities into operational plans.
•    Lead and drive continuous process improvements by using LEAN.
•    Ensure production output and product release with continuous improvement of performance as well as delivering excellent results.
•    Secure quality and compliance of product and process. Define strategy for production execution, including sampling, cleaning and maintenance.
 

In addition, you will be part of the management team and will work closely with your management colleagues on day-to-day operations and people management-related matters.

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, we expect you to:

•    Have several years of proven leadership experience, preferably including leading leaders
•    Hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent
•    Have experience with GMP-regulated areas due to work with production and/or development of pharmaceutical products.
•    Have experience with LEAN knowledge and processes through your daily work
•    Communicate fluently in English and Danish
 

As a leader, you are good at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across the organization. Moreover, you need to oversee and manage day-to-day operations and long-term coordinating, prioritizing, and planning of resources and tasks in the team to ensure fulfilment of our ambition to obtain more capacity and stable production of high-quality products out of the facility. This would include prioritization and portfolio management of multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity.
 

As a person, you have strong analytical skills with an interest in systematic problem-solving. You are structured and proactive in your work and will never compromise on quality. To succeed you need to be able to keep calm and make decisions in a busy work environment, where the agenda changes frequently. As a leader, you see and match your employees' needs and ambitions, where you naturally adapt your leadership style, ask curious questions, and can communicate at all levels of the organization.

About the department
In API M1, we strive to create the best place to work by continuously developing people and processes in a safe and learning-oriented environment. The factory consists of approx. 700 internal employees divided into 7 departments (3 production-, 1 project- and 3 support departments). Over the coming years, we will optimize our production to keep up with the demand.
