Student Assistant to the Social and Humanitarian team
We are looking for a Student Assistant to support our activities in the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Social and Humanitarian team.

As our new Student Assistant, you will become part of the team and work closely with 18 ambitious and dedicated full-time employees, and two student assistants, headed by Professor Flemming Konradsen. The team is working on both initiatives on social and health inequities in Denmark as well as humanitarian emergencies, health, and food security initiatives in low- and middle-income countries.

We are now seeking a student assistant to support the team with different analytical and administrative tasks.

The Job
As Student Assistant you will support the entire Social and Humanitarian team together with one other student assistant. Your tasks will include:

  • Assist planning and implementation of various projects, programmes, and partnerships
  • Assist with fact-finding and data collection
  • Conduct minor analysis and prepare written materials
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for the team directors
  • Assist with coordination and booking of meetings and workshops, including planning missions, preparing briefing documents, and writing minutes
  • Support communication efforts, incl. drafting material for social media platforms and website maintenance
  • Various administrative tasks

As part of your role, you will receive continuous feedback and engage in sparring with the team, and you will become a part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s student network.

The working hours will be approximately 12-15 hours a week with flexibility in relation to your studies. You are two student assistants in the team and will usually divide the days between you. 

Professional and Personal Qualifications
We are looking for a person who possesses the right professional skills as well as a true interest within the field of both social initiatives and humanitarian aid and is eager to help people both in Denmark and around the world.

Furthermore, we expect you to be:

  • On the 3rd year of a bachelor’s degree or 1st year Master’s degree, in e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Public/global health, Social Sciences, or something similar
  • A superuser in the MS Office suite and particularly in PowerPoint
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Danish

As a person you are:

  • Thorough, systematic, and have a high attention to detail
  • Helpful and have a high degree of empathy and a team-oriented nature
  • Able to initiate and finish tasks independently with high-quality results
  • Open-minded, positive, and willing to take on many kinds of tasks (both routine tasks and one-off projects)
  • Contribute to a positive environment and keen to learn and develop your professional network within the field of both social initiatives and humanitarian and international development work
