Electricity Maps’ Grid Modelling & Methodology team’s purpose is to deliver the best digital representation of the grid, worldwide. The team is looking for a Student Developer / Data Scientist to continually improve the quality of the data that Electricity Maps offers.
About you:
- Have a background in data science, data analysis, or software development.
- Like to work within a team environment but are able to complete tasks autonomously.
- Are comfortable working with version control (git) and Python code.
- Have an interest in working with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, data scientists, and other energy experts.
- Are looking to grow and learn in a challenging role.
- Possess an intrinsic motivation to have a positive impact in the world.
How you will contribute to our mission:
- Improve the our ingestion pipeline by investigating and correcting outliers in our data streams
- Ensuring our methodology for calculating carbon emissions remains accurate and up-to-date
- Help maintain the open source parsers we use to collect electricity data from around the world
- Participate in an EU research project
