Additive Manufacturing Materials Specialist

Join us to create the future of additive manufacturing (AM) in a major global company.

As our AM materials specialist, you will become instrumental in defining our future with 3D printing, our use of materials and collaborations with partners. You will join a great and passionate team of 6 highly skilled colleagues, who are adamant on applying new technologies to transform our production setup and processes.

Take this opportunity to use your applied understanding of materials and 3D metal printing to release the potential of AM and transform manufacturing in Grundfos 5-10 years from now.

Join a skilled team

In the AM team, we break new ground and collaborate closely with Business Development and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to establish 3D printing as the future production technology in Grundfos. We are doing both prototypes and production equipment with the full support of our top management.

Create the future of 3D printing

In this newly established position, you will have ample opportunity to develop and shape your own role. As you begin, your primary objective is to set the direction and help us develop and mature 3D metal printing. But as our expert on materials, you will soon start to identify and suggest the use of other materials.

Here, few days are alike, and you join us in a versatile, challenging and extremely exciting time to complete projects and implement new technologies and materials. More specifically, you:

  • Collaborate closely with the AM team to mature and qualify AM materials for future production of parts and to define how to qualify AM parts for future production
  • Run projects, e.g. on the development and testing of new materials and methods
  • Establish both cross-functional collaborations and global external partnerships, e.g. to ensure technology scouting and help us set the right direction on 3D-printing
  • Help us strengthen the ties between product development and production development

A fast learner and materials expert

As a materials specialist, you will need great collaboration skills, a structured approach to projects and a persistent character. But what is more, you are a versatile and fast learner who can help us understand all kinds of materials – including polymers. And you are ready to reach out to internal and external partners on your own to help us develop and make additive manufacturing all it can be.

  • You hold a master’s degree in engineering or similar
  • You have 5+ years of applied experience within a metallurgical/materials engineering role
  • You have a profound knowledge of additive manufacturing and materials technology with a focus on 3D metal printing and Design of Experiments
  • You communicate effortlessly in English
