Assistant or Associate Professor in Aquatic Ecology

The Department of Biology at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense invites applications for a position in the ecological research group starting in November 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter. The group holds several grants focusing on freshwater and coastal marine environments. These projects include aquatic habitat recovery involving lake and estuarine restoration, nutrient cycling, reestablishment of lakes and buffer zones along streams, phosphorus recovery from the environment, and effects of climate adaptation and urban discharge on the environment.

We seek an aquatic ecologist with excellent scientific and teaching achievements. The candidate should have scientific expertise at the interface between terrestrial and aquatic environments (streams and freshwater and estuarine wetlands). Candidates with skills in environmental dynamical modelling of nutrient cycling and water quality in these ecosystems will be preferred.

We offer access to a well-developed research infrastructure, laboratory space, shared analytical equipment, a supportive research climate and access to networking activities among other scientists.

Applicants should indicate whether they are applying for the position as assistant or associate professor. Applicants at assistant professor level must complete SDU’s lecturer training programme. Applicants at associate professor level must provide documentation of university-level courses in pedagogics or complete SDU’s lecturer training programme within the first year of employment.

Deadline: 1 June 2019.

Please read the full call, including how to apply, on www.sdu.dk.
