Management of global energy storage projects in consultancy within the renewable industry

K2 Management is a global, independent and leading consultancy within the renewable industry. To support the rapid growth in demand for our services and to strengthen our product line, we are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager with experience in batteries and/or energy storage to identify and realize new opportunities within storage.  

You will report directly to our Director, Innovation and Design Optimization, and this position will be based in one of our premises in Denmark (Viby J/Copenhagen), UK (Glasgow/Bristol) or Germany (Hamburg). As K2 Management is a growing company worldwide, this position will offer significant career and learning opportunities to the right candidate.  

Management of electrical storage technologies 

As Project Manager, Battery & Storage you will be responsible for electricity storage projects and for managing the growth of technical and commercial expertise on storage technologies within K2 Management. In addition, your area of responsibilities will include:  

  • Identify opportunities for electricity storage projects 
  • Develop a business plan to ensure that opportunities becomes reality 
  • Management of energy storage pilot projects, from early development phase to final conceptual solution, on time and within budget, to meet the specifications agreed with our external and internal clients. 
  • Being the focal point for knowledge gathering and management on storage technologies (excluding hydro) and other new products  
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting  
  • Travelling must be expected, when required to attend client meetings. 

Experienced project manager with engineering background 

  • Relevant engineering background combined with 7+ years of international project management experience from the renewable industry 
  • Experience with batteries and/or storage technologies 
  • Project manager certificate (e.g. PMI, IPMA or Prince2) will be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite for this position 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills   
  • Proven commercial understanding 
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbally and in writing 
  • As a person, you are people-oriented always aiming at delivering high quality, optimum support and stretched flexibility, and you have a structured and analytical approach to your job while at the same time keeping the overview. You are cooperative and a dedicated team player yet also able to work independently, and you always keeping in mind what is best for the company.
