A clinical position as consultant of psychiatry at the Department of affective disorders (outpatient clinic) at Mental Health Centre Copenhagen is open for appointment from as soon as possible.



The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Psychiatry with special focus on Development of Chronobiological Treatments for Depression at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.



With this new position the Department of affective disorders (outpatient clinic) at Mental Health Centre Copenhagen wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.



It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

Mental Health Center Copenhagen has more than 1300 employees and currently 253 beds.

The Center examines and treats adult psychiatric patients in the general psychiatric areas and covers large parts of Copenhagen (Østerbro, Indre By, Nordvest, Nørrebro, Vanløse) and Frederiksberg municipality. This corresponds to an intake area of approx. 430,000 citizens. The Center is organizationally located in the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark, and geographically located partly at Rigshospitalet, Bispebjerg Hospital, Gentofte Hospital and Frederiksberg Hospital, as well as in smaller units around the local area.



The research network at the Mental Health Center Copenhagen is closely linked to clinic and competence development and includes projects within both quality development and actual research in the affective area, including suicide prevention.

Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at mental Health Centre of Copenhagen.



Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.



As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Mental Health Centre of Copenhagen. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of Mental Health Centre of Copenhagen. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Mental Health Centre of Copenhagen.
