You will join the Sciex Application Support Specialist Team, which provide the technical skills, knowledge and experience necessary to support our customer base and aid our expansion.

The position can either be based in Sweden or in Denmark

Role features and responsibilities:

Your role is focused on providing mass spectrometry application support to our Nordic customers and colleagues in the small molecule community such as pharma, food & environmental, clinical research and many others. The role is primarily field based but would involve extensive interaction with our EMEAI Application Support, Service and Sales teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide pre-sales mass spectrometry application support and knowledge to Sales through customer visits, product demonstrations, seminars/lectures/workshops and sample analysis. 
  • Deliver post-sales application support, inhouse and onsite training, visiting customers and remote support in a timely and professional manner with the aim of increasing customer satisfaction. This includes preparation & delivery of efficient and successful user meetings as well as customer training and follow-up support to customers.
  • Acquire and maintain practical and technical knowledge for the efficient application support of customers, Sales and Service. Keep updated on the scientific community including attendance at regional and international conferences.
  • Gather, analyze and deliver information from the field to local and European Sales & Marketing on competitive activity, market conditions and product opportunities to allow the company to develop strategies and products appropriate to the market and to make full use of market opportunities. Work on generation and delivery of new marketing content.
  • Liaise with local, European and global network to solve customer problems quickly and efficiently. Provide internal feedback on technical problems.
  • The position requires extensive travel across the Nordic region to drive customer engagement, provide onsite support, training, troubleshooting and technical expertise. There would also be international travel to our UK and German lab facilities.

    Education and experience

  • Either PhD in chemistry/life sciences, or degree and equivalent industrial experience.
  • Proven track record in analytical chemistry: chromatographic and mass spectrometry method development and troubleshooting, ideally focused on small molecule applications.
  • General awareness of HPLC-MS technology and its uses
  • Experience from a similar role or within technical sales, as Analytical Chemist or from Academia would be desirable
  • Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good verbal and written English.
  • Valid driving license
