Area Sales Manager with technical skills in chemical water treatment & disinfection


Would you like EMEA as your playground as you take on an advanced technical sales role in a strong international organisation?  With Europe as your area of responsibility, you will join one of the world’s largest companies within water treatment.


This is a role that means more than sales. You will drive an important agenda worldwide and be able to make a real difference - both internally to the Grundfos business but also across the globe, providing water utility solutions.


 It hardly gets more global than this


In our Global Water Utility team, we are 40 colleagues – 20 based in Copenhagen and 20 based in Germany. Our function is organised within the Water Utility Segment, and we are responsible for providing complex dosing and disinfection project solutions to clients around the world. Our main customers are within water utility and industrial water. You refer to Group Senior Vice President Henrik Sonesson.


You will join a truly multi-national team of 12 different nationalities, and we have satellite offices around the globe. Putting together advanced technical solutions for our customers, we value partnerships, working closely with our end-users – but we also make sure to have a great atmosphere in the team, meeting virtually to be each other’s sounding boards and share some team spirit across cultures,” Henrik says.


Work with European customers


Based in Europe, you take on a business development role with a clear sales distinction. The solutions you sell are for chemical treatment and disinfection of waste water, industrial water or drinking water. In cooperation with the Grundfos local sales organisation, you visit customers in Europe to sell system solutions with a focus on expanding the current sales volume. This will take you travelling up to 100 days per year.


You are the advanced technical expert

You act as the advanced technical expert, putting together complete tailor-made systems and solutions, and in the process, you work closely with your customers to cater to their needs and wishes. You then prioritise the different aspects of the process and set the implementation in motion within time frame, budget, quality and specific customer demands.


You take on a challenging job where you have to present and discuss solutions at a high technical level with different customers who have different needs. It is all about building long-term relations with your key stakeholders because in project sales, we help facilitate a process that may end up taking a few years,” Henrik explains.


A sales profile with an engineering degree

  • You have a technical university degree within Engineering, preferably Chemical Process Engineering.
  • You have a strong sales profile and 5+ years of experience within this specific customer segment.
  • You speak and write English effortlessly. Any additional languages are a plus.


 “As a person, you have a commercial mind-set combined with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at many different levels. Being able to listen to the customers’ needs and turn those into offers requires your technical understanding and flexibility as well as being open-minded and outgoing,” Henrik finishes.
