The Business IT Department at the IT University of Copenhagen invites qualified applications for up to three Assistant or Associate Professors in fields such as Information Studies, Social Studies of IT, Digital Transformation, Information Systems or Business Informatics. Job Description
The new Assistant or Associate Professors are expected to do research and teach in one or more of the following areas:

  • Digital Strategies; Preference is given to applicants with a focus on Governance, organization and management of digitalization; development of digital strategies; implementation of digital strategies; Strategic Practices; and the effect of digital strategies in practice.
  • Digital welfare and Citizenship; Preference is given to applicants with a focus on participation, infrastructural competences and marginalization; the future of digitalized work in the public sector; and visions of digital transformation of state and society.
  • Data and Analytics; Preference is given to applicants with a focus on critical analysis of algorithmic systems including (big) data analytics; the role of data in the public sector; societal and political consequences of development and use of large scale data collection and processing.
Research Qualification Requirements
The ideal applicant has a solid track record in publishing research within the above areas in internationally renowned journals and conferences.

Proven expertise in one or more of the following areas are also appreciated:
  • Working in interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Successful research projects in close collaboration with the public sector.
It is highly desirable that the applicant is willing and able to actively and positively contribute to our interdisciplinary research environment. The IT University also carries out teaching and research in a range of other areas, including digital culture, digital media and communication, computer games, interaction design, pervasive interaction technology, technologies in practice, software engineering, theoretical computer science, and information systems management.

The candidate
We look to hire strong candidates holding a PhD in data science, computer science, computational statistics, or a closely related field.

The candidate is expected to conduct research and research-based teaching in one or more of the following areas:
