Associate Vice President for Global Marketing, Pathology Division

Job Description


We are looking for an Associate Vice President for our Global Marketing area in our Pathology Division in the Diagnostic & Genomics Group (DGG) of Agilent. In this high impact role, you will be responsible for heading a Marketing team of 5 Managers and 1 Assistant. The Global Marketing area is counting a total of 40 employees.

The Pathology Division has a rich legacy history as a world leading company developing pathology solutions for tissue-based cancer diagnostics for the oncology market. Our portfolio of solutions includes the first-to-market companion diagnostics, superior workflow solutions of highly competitive automated systems, software and comprehensive reagent portfolios - all designed and developed for operating in the regulated In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) market. The Associate Vice President will become a member of Pathology core leadership team and will report to the Vice President of the Pathology Division.

Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Involved in strategic planning covering the Pathology Division.
  • Translate strategies into actions for Global Marketing based on deep knowledge of the pathology market domains and customer segments.
  • Create and drive the commercial and scientific agenda in the Pathology leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities to drive growth (eg. deliver in-depth market and competitive analysis, refine products and positioning in the market and understand evolving market trends).
  • Develop and manage a world-class marketing organization.
  • People management for Managers in Marketing. Mentor leaders across the organization.
  • Talent identification, development and retention.
  • Set performance objectives, conduct performance appraisals as well ensure continuous competency development of direct reports and Marketing department overall.
  • Ensure allocation of resources to projects and marketing activities -- accountable to plan, budget and prioritize.
  • Ensure the right processes is in place to on a company level to drive an effective Global Marketing organization.
  • Ensure a seamless cross-functional partnership with Sales, Field Marketing, Application, Service, OFS, QA/RA and R&D to align on product priorities and executions plans.
  • You will interact closely with colleagues across the entire Agilent organization at all levels but particularly within DGG and Pathology. We would also expect you to interact with external customers, key opinion leaders, quality organizations and scientific collaborations when needed.


    Qualifications


    Qualifications required for the job:

  • Degree in Science, Engineering or similar.
  • Deep understanding of the diagnostic industry.
  • Profound experience in product marketing, sales, business development or similar with a proven track record.
  • Exposure to P&L responsibility, and the related financial acumen needed to drive business decisions and outcomes.
  • Strong leadership skills, and ability to influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization across functions.
  • Strong business analysis skills with a proven ability to deliver results and motivate teams.
  • Structured approach and excellent planning skills.
  • Must be fluent in English, oral and written.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% at times, both domestic and internationally.
