Biomass Trader

Are you an ambitious Biomass Trader who wants to play a key role in our bioconversion and secure competitive biomass fuel for our power plants as well as optimising the portfolio by trading in the market?

Join us and become Biomass Trader in Fuel & Logistics which is responsible for the sourcing of and logistics related to wood pellets, wood chips, SFHP, straw, natural gas, coal and alternative fuels to our power plants. We’re committed to source on a sustainable and responsible basis. We source fuel globally for EUR 400 million and handle more than 40,000 logistics operations per year.

Your key tasks will be to

  • source and trade in physical wood pellets
  • develop and implement strategies to secure a competitive and robust wood pellet portfolio
  • cooperate closely with the Logistics team to optimise the physical portfolio and strengthen the supply chain
  • analyse the biomass market and regulatory developments
  • evaluate, optimise and execute commercial deals.

You’ll also cooperate with all internal teams such as Risk, Legal, Credit and Project Development to ensure compliance and strengthen our position in the wood pellet market.

Your competences include that you

  • have a master’s or bachelor’s degree, but your experience and personal drive is the most important
  • have a strong trading character to drive the expansion of the business with a proven track record and some years of experience in both the biomass market and power industry
  • have an established network within the biomass/power markets or related commodity markets
  • have experience/understanding of supply chain management and/or experience with freight 
  • are fluent in English (additional languages are an advantage) and have good communication skills.

In addition, you have a strong cooperative team spirit and the ability to take initiative and execute business prospects. 

You also have a commercial mindset and the drive to develop a mature market for biomass.

Moreover, you’re able to build strong relations to your stakeholders and counterparts and seek results.
