Business Developer - Nordics

DPR is seeking a Business Developer that is passionate about winning work. This person defines and executes strategic sales goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies project opportunities, drives the sales process and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

The ideal candidate will prioritize customers and opportunities that meet our red zone criteria (Passion, Performance & Financial Return) and position DPR as a dominant builder in our core markets for the Nordic region.

Key responsibilities

Get Work Leadership:

  • Drive sales strategy and implementation for the Nordic region (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland)

  • Maintain a robust / balanced pipeline of opportunities

  • Conduct analyses for each of our top customers

  • Develop competitor analyses

  • Practice data-driven discipline to prioritize customers and opportunities; use this data / research to inform our path forward

  • Continually and effectively share intelligence with the larger “Get Work” team and Nordic business leadership

  • DPR Sales Process Management:

    Market Analysis | Fully understand market conditions for the Nordic region, including top customers, competitors, industry changes, etc.

    Customer Development | Focus on the customer, not the project. Understand their business and players to best serve their needs and develop meaningful, lasting relationships.

    Positioning | Work with our target partners early in the process to position DPR for a win before a project is on the line.

    Pre-Selling | Gain actionable data and intelligence that will help DPR build a win strategy. Engage the DPR team early and advise our customer on how they can be most successful.

    Proposal / Presentation | Be the voice of the customer during the pursuit process. Transition your knowledge of key customer priorities, players, etc. to the pursuit team to ensure alignment around messaging and a final proposal that exceeds our customers’ expectations.

    Post-Pursuit | Close the loop on the pursuit and ensure customer satisfaction through the project lifecycle.

    Who we’re looking for

    We are looking for a collaborative, results-driven team player with the ability to manage and grow customer relationships and drive a data-focused approach to sales.

    The ideal candidate possesses the following characteristics:

  • Passionate about our core markets and the Nordic construction industry

  • Deep understanding of Nordic customers and their business

  • Existing network of industry contacts

  • Positive reputation within the industry / geography

  • Proficiency using a CRM platform

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Danish, Swedish and/or Norwegian language proficiency

  • English language proficiency (internal DPR business)

  • Collaborative

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strategic thinker; able to identify and resolve complex issues

  • Strong work ethic and “can-do” attitude

  • Responsive to the needs of external customers and internal DPR team partners

  • Ability to coach and prep our DPR team members for conversations with partners
