The Consumer and Devices Sales (CDS) team in EMEA has a great opportunity for someone to lead planning, executing, managing and monitoring key business activities across the region, reporting directly to the CDS EMEA Vice President.

 

CDS is vital to Microsoft’s growth not only for the direct revenue it generates, but also due to the channel’s unique ability to help build brand equity and engagement due to its outreach to consumer and small business customers worldwide. Microsoft has a long history of working with partners to reach end customers, developing profitable relationships with retailers, distributors and telecommunications business’ worldwide. Microsoft makes substantial investments in marketing through these Partners from the development of visual merchandising assets, to training sales professionals, to funding marketing activities and promotions.

 

The successful candidate will have the ability to think strategically at a global level and be able to effectively develop key planning frameworks, communication and connections, playbooks and organizational processes, combined with excellent virtual team management skills in a complex matrix organisation. The individual must be comfortable working with and engaging senior executive leaders across the organization. The Business Manager role is about ensuring that key business activities are executed and managed in support of the Category management, Consumer Channel Sales, Device Sales and Channel & Device Marketing functions who are all part of the CDS EMEA organization.

 

Drive the rhythm of the business (RoB), scorecard performance and various business development projects as required.

  • Plan and prepare content for VP presentations/speeches/communications including Regional All-Hands Meetings, Leadership meetings, internal events (START/READY), external events (CES/E3) and Partner Executive connections.
  • Plan and coordinate Executive visits with EMEA Sub-Regions and Partners.
  • Leadership on the CDS EMEA Leadership Team (LT) for planning and execution; working with Business Partners including Finance, HR and CELA, and WW stakeholders.
  • Drive CDS EMEA Rewards and Recognition program, and representation in WW reward programs. Actively participate in the WW Business Manager Community and effectively represent the EMEA VP in cross-company forums and initiatives. Facilitate a two-way ‘communication bridge’ between WW stakeholders and EMEA stakeholders to ensure ‘flawless’ execution and provide EMEA specific feedback on program and business process and tool improvements.

 

 

Qualifications

The position requires an individual who understands how to get things done at Microsoft through impact and influence by leveraging extensive interpersonal and collaboration skills. In addition, you must have experience in strategic planning, execution, building relationships and working with senior leaders at all levels. Strong knowledge and experience working with WW teams, local teams, and customers/partners is an advantage.

 

The Business Manager should have strong analytical/problem solving skills, demonstrated success in driving complex strategies and projects, excellent cross group organizational skills and agility, strong communication skills (verbal and written), proven project management skills and be a motivated self-starter. You should also enjoy working under pressure and within strict deadlines, and be flexible with the ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty.

 

  • Passionate and knowledgeable on consumer, partner and digital business models and GTM strategies as an enabler for the company’s growth
  • Strong commercial acumen and senior executive presence
  • Experienced in building partnerships and influence with senior leadership/management through deep insight of the businesses and understanding of their customer/partner needs.
  • Strong partner management “discipline” of working with people; in a structured way, orchestrating teams through complex solutions, commercial terms and organizational politics
  • Collaborative and able to set clear goals/timelines and meet them; consistently demonstrates strong people management skills.

 

High levels of skill in:

  • Oral & written communication
  • Presentation and PowerPoint skills
  • Numerical analysis and reporting
  • Project management & Prioritization
  • Handling objections and negotiation
