To strengthen our Patient Value Unit Immunology in Denmark and Norway to be based in Denmark, we are looking for a talented and inspiring leader to fill the position of: 

Business Unit Manager Denmark & Norway

As a Business Unit Manager, you will be the integrated manager of all the customer/stakeholder-facing resources in the Immunology Business Unit of Denmark and Norway, and you will be orchestrating all activities of that local business unit. You have a deep Insight in the DK/NO health care system and the ability to balance short and long term objectives; such as drive growth, profitability to achieve the Immunology strategic and financial goals and develop long term partnerships with the local health care system.

You will be responsible for the overall cross functional leadership of the franchise, including external facing UCB roles that are involved in patient value creation e.g. HCP Partners and, where applicable, Payer Partners.

As a Business Unit Manager, you demonstrate a high maturity in leadership and in cross functional collaboration. You create and drive the acquired joint accountability to secure a true alignment of teams and individuals within the team.

You ensure the local franchise operates to highest standards of ethics, compliance and quality when educating, promoting, selling and distributing its products by complying with UCB code of business conduct and industry guidelines.

  • Lead the development and execution of tailored strategies for the assigned business unit (Ecosystem).
  • Drive growth , profitability to achieve the business unit strategic and financial goals and develop long term partnerships with health care
  • Contribute to accomplishing patient and health care value , with your in depth understanding of the Danish and Norwegian healthcare system and of the therapeutic area including clinic, payer and policy interactions and capability of external focus
  • Be an active contributor in Immunology Northern European Leadership Team.
  • You will contribute by:

  • Demonstrate a motivational, inclusive and cross functional leadership, build on the Patient Value Strategy principals that inspires to true joint accountability of all local business unit members.
  • Work cross-functionally with the local business unit members to build out plan details, and to make modifications when necessary to reflect new market insights or changes in market dynamics.
  • Develop a multi-stakeholder (internal & external) business unit strategy based on key insights and unique characteristics of that ecosystem to maximize patient and ecosystem value creation and advance the business unit objectives.
  • Ensure implementation of DK/NO’s Business Unit Patient Value plans to achieve aligned and approved UCB and patient/business unit value creation objectives within agreed financial frame
  • Develop and maintains effective external and internal relationships to secure patient value and efficient operation of the franchise in DK/NO.
  • Stay up-to-date on business, clinical/scientific, healthcare funding and policy issues affecting the DK/NO healthcare ecosystem.
  • I nterested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • 10 years of healthcare related sales, marketing, market access or field medical experience
  • 3+ years in key account management
  • Bachelors’ degree in life sciences, business or healthcare required
  • M.B.A., JD, PharmD, PhD or MD preferred
  • Market expertise in the DK/NO health systems and excellence understanding of local ecosystem key drivers for success
  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary (cross functional) and/or matrix teams.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing, developing, and cross-functional influencing teams.
  • Expertise in immunology
  • Demonstrates the ability to engender credibility and confidence within the company.
  • Strong customer focus and operating skills and sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrated strength in analytics, business planning, tactical plan development and execution.
