Category Manager

We have consolidated our position as one of the leading actors within the action sports segment with specialization in roller sports. Our main goal is to be the preferred online action sports shop in Europe. We offer customers an extensive range of the best products. We are highly passionate about guiding our customers through product information, guides etc., in order to cater to the individual needs of each customer. As a company, SkatePro has seen a vast growth over the past years and our ambitions are to continue along this journey of growth.

Your tasks and responsibilities

You will be given the responsibility of each individual aspect of a specific product category and act as a key stakeholder throughout the entire value chain. This entails everything from the supplier relation, quality control, selection of the best product range in the world, promotions towards customers with subsequent action based on customer feedback. All this is carried out in collaboration with relevant departments. You will hold the responsibility for budgets on your product area and will be expected to ensure continuity and growth via thorough and efficient category management.

Your background and skills

As a minimum we expect you to have 3-5 years of experience with strategic purchasing, most likely in retail or in a wholesale company. You have experience with the sporting goods industry, preferably with skates, skateboards, pro scooters, BMX, winter- or watersports.

You are an ambitious, skilled and goal-oriented commercial profile, with a in depth understanding of negotiation techniques and purchasing processes. You have solid experience and a proven track record within international purchase, ideally with overseas suppliers.

You are proactive and able to be the initiator by nature. But at the same time, you are able to work systematically and quality consciously with your tasks and deliver on deadlines. You possess a sharp overview and know how to sustain a strong focus throughout the process of ascertaining set goals. You thrive in a busy and challenging workday where the bar is set high and no two days are the same.

Furthermore, we expect that your interpersonal- and communicational skills are well developed, and that you are good at creating and further developing long-term relations. Your English are at negotiation level, both written and verbally. You are an experienced IT user and you are confident with MS Office and ERP systems, more advantageously with knowledge about C5.

Other than that, we feel that need to underline that we require a person with high personal integrity, that you are trustworthy and have a strong set of social skills. We also expect you to be able to balance your own available resources within a busy workday.
