We invite you to bring your passion, curiosity and technical skills into play as you contribute to the  development of the CFD service at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Advanced CFD Simulations (at Ramboll in Denmark, France, Norway or United Kingdom).

The Centre for Advanced CFD Simulations is supporting Clients on a variety complex fluid-dynamics and multi-physics problems using and developing a wide range of services spanning from simple scripting to advanced CFD simulation. Our clients are both national and global based and operate in the Building, Energy, Environmental & Health, Transport and Water markets.

Thanks to the sustained growth in several countries in the demand for CFD services, we are looking for junior CFD engineers to carrying out Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies to support our development. We are currently looking for:

  • 2 CFD engineers for Denmark;
  • 1 CFD engineer in France;
  • 1 CFD engineer in Norway;
  • 1 CFD engineer in United Kingdom.

A key driver is to improve on sustainability and reducing carbon footprint through the continuous design improvement using advanced CFD simulations, providing much needed insight and foundation for evidence-based decision at both small and large scale. Beside supporting the Ramboll Markets in general, special focus are on Datacentres, Renewable Energy, Manufacturing and Pharma Industry, and Air Quality & Microclimate to solve challenging flow and Multiphysics issues.

You will join our Centre of Excellence for Advanced CFD Simulations

As our new junior CFD engineer, you will be part and supported by a highly skilled team with cross market knowledge and co-working with the different business units in Ramboll as well as external Clients.

As a part of our team, you will play a central role in providing our clients with design support and verification services as well as operational troubleshooting and technical safety assessments.

Typical projects generally span across different stages of design, ranging from early-stage design iterations to design validation and prototyping of new solutions.   

In Ramboll, more than 15 people are working with Advanced Simulations using CFD and8 is located in Copenhagen together with 20 Risk and Safety colleagues. In Norway and United Kingdom, the position is together with Building department.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Handling of incoming simulation requests together with the team
  • Outlook for possible future projects and applied CFD services including scope definition and cost estimation.
  • Helping to identifying Client leads, opportunities where Advanced Simulations with CFD services can be successfully used to provide key insights and add value

Your starting point for constant growth

We are looking for junior CFD engineers and will support your personal and professional development including back-up on assignments as part of the development, so that you grow with the company.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Newly educated and/or holds a M.Sc. within Engineering, or a similar field, with focus on fluid-dynamics and numerical simulation (CFD);
  • Newly educated or with 0-4 year of work experience providing engineering service using CFD;
  • Be experienced in working with Linux based HPC-systems or HPC in the Cloud;
  • Have work or through university experience with OpenFOAM on/or Star-CCM+ CFD codes;
  • Be familiar with Python, Bash scripting;
  • Have experience with commercial CAD tools (Rhino, Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software)
  • Possess good communication skills and characterised by a reliable and structured way of working;
  • Interest in interacting with Clients and stakeholders to ensure the success of the project;
  • Be proficient in English (and/or Danish), verbally and in writing.
