Committed and business-driven Legal Manager

Do you want to work with complex IT contracts in a thriving international IT company? At Systematic, you will have the opportunity to apply your legal skills and commercial understanding in close cooperation with the business and its decision makers.

Systematic seeks a new committed, business oriented colleague, who is motivated by how the collaboration between the commercial and legal areas provide the greatest possible value for the business and who understands the importance of being able to manage oneself at all levels in a large organization and across different professions and locations.

The job
As a Legal Manager, you will be part of Commercial & Legal Services that today consists of 6 lawyers, 2 law students and a team of bid managers. We collaborate with the business nationally and internationally through e.g. proposals, contract negotiations, contract- & issue management. The department refers directly to and has a close collaboration with the group management.

Our primary task is to strengthen the business through the best possible commercial and contractual solutions to the challenges and risks we encounter. We act as business partners for the three different business units as well as assist in the implementation of Systematic’s strategy. Furthermore, we also assist the subsidiary companies, manage trademarks as well as ensure the compliance of various compliance programmes.

The following will be among your working tasks:

  • Close cooperation with our Defense business unit that provides products and related services and projects around the world. We continuously respond to a multitude of formal and informal RFQ’s of different sizes from various public procurement entities and prime contractors. As Legal Manager you will be part of each bid team providing such responses. This includes e.g. upsides and risks in the tender documents, verifying the proposal contractually, negotiating with customers, prime contractors and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiation of other commercial contracts (large as well as small).
  • Counselling about and management of compliance programmes. In Defense, specifically the export control area.
  • Ensure contract handover to and subsequent follow-up for project managers/program managers.
  • Contract management on selected larger projects and ad-hoc support of project managers/program managers.
  • Other tasks from group or other business units.
  • Other development and process tasks. We never stop improving and challenging our way of working, standards and processes.

The department has a strong professional environment and we use each other for sparring and learning on a daily basis in an open and informal working environment – preferably with a humorous tone. Across our various domains, markets and personalities, we all deliver through drive, persistence and passion.

Your skills and personality
You are a Master of Law or Master of Business Law with minimum 3-6 years of experience with complex commercial contracts. You must have a solid professional foundation and understand law as a tool in the business. It will serve as an advantage if you have experience with IT/international contracts. You are used to handling agreed processes and able to keep a sense of perspective over larger contracts and multiple contracts simultaneously. It is essential that your English skills are at a negotiation level – both verbally and in writing.

You work independently and in a structured manner. It is important that you are customer oriented and able to build relations. You must be positive by nature, have the desire to collaborate and contribute with new ideas, be able to manage yourself at all levels of the organization, dare to challenge and be clear in the presentation of legal information regardless of the receiver’s background. You are driven by reaching the goals and being in close contact with the business.

To be able to continue the development of solutions that customers trust, we continuously challenge each other, our work processes and technologies. We have a highly pro-active education and training policy with defined career paths and internal pro-active Knowledge Networks.

We stay constantly focused on making everything better.
