We are recruiting for a Commodity Trading Analyst for our Gas spot team, someone who can also strengthen the analytical setup and to increase focus on insightful and quantitative driven decision making.

Job responsibilities will include:

Spearhead the development and implementation of fundamental analytics models and frameworks using in-house and external resources

Participate in the development of our in-house data processing and capability including hiring, software selection, process and model development
-
Support the decision-making around initiation of innovative, new growth business lines or products within the scope of Intraday trading
-
Developing concepts, seizing the opportunity, understanding the risks/rewards, designing delivery, analyzing financials/economics and creating and executing on full launch trading ideas;
-
Ensure trading strategies for specific market areas is regularly updated in cooperation with the trading team
-
Help analyze, select, enter and develop new markets
-
Be part of the frontrunners of the business to automate and digitalize the individual internal processes.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
-
Masters’s degree required - MSc in Finance, Mathematics or Economics preferred
-
Must be self-motivated and self-managed with experience running and implementing complex and data intensive projects;
-
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate quantitative problems to business language and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders;
-
Experience and knowledge in statistical modelling in a business context and ability to develop models and processes;
-
Well balanced commercial aptitude and quantitative/technical know-how, creativity and problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to influence teams to drive results;
-
Highly numerate with significant experience dealing with numerical complexity;
-
Ability to expand business into new Markets;
-
Deep knowledge and understanding of the entire European Energy Complex;

Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, MATLAB, R, SQL

A good understanding of the energy market is desired
-
Experience in a high calibre energy-related trading environment would be highly desirable
