Bjarke Ingels Group is offering a paid internship within BIG Sustainability, which is an interdisciplinary team at BIG based in the Copenhagen office. The position will focus on informing the design process with climate-based analysis (i.e., direct sunlight, daylighting, outdoor comfort, energy, wind and natural ventilation etc.). This is a rare interdisciplinary opportunity to learn and help develop techniques for integrating climate based solutions into architectural projects. You will work together with design teams on more than half of BIG’s projects. We work with myriad oftools within the field of climate analysis, energy modelling and computational design, so the techniques you learn will remain valuable to you throughout your career.
Please include portfolio material that explicitly showcases your abilities in grasshopper, preferably within the context of performance-based design analysis and implementations. Scripting experience in Python/C# or other programming languages, experience in CFD simulations, knowledge of OpenFoam, and experience with energy modeling are each a big plus but not strictly a requirement. Requirements:
Have at least 2 years of architecture school behind you Be a current student.Graduates (master level and 5 yrs bachelor) cannot be considered as interns in regards to the Danish legislation. We will follow up on your educational status and you will have to sign a declaration prior to your start. Have an interest in designing data visualization related to climate analysis Knowledge and experience with Rhino/Grasshopper, Excel, Adobe is required. Knowledge with IES VE, Energy Plus, Ladybug, Honeybee, Climate Studio is an advantage. Have a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working Be able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction Have great interpersonal communication skills Be fluent in English Be able to have your Internship with BIG running for at least 6 months, preferably 12 months.
