Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology, at the Department of Neurology Lillebaelt Hospital (DK), based at Kolding Hospital.
This post is a replacement of a retired Consultant. The post holder will be responsible for providing and developing the full range of Neurophysiological procedures. The post holder will help deliver a modern and efficient Clinical Neurophysiology service at Lillebaelt Hospital, Kolding. This will include neurophysiological tests used in the investigation of peripheral nerve and muscle disease, electroencephalography, evoked potentials and other neurophysiological tests of the central nervous system. Other responsibilities include the supervision and training of 5 clinical physiologists in the department, in association with the Department Clinical Manager.
The clinical physiologists perform much of the routine upper and lower limb NCS including a clinical physiologist led carpal tunnel service. The post holder will be expected to supervise this practice and report on all other NCS studies. The post holder will also carry out the more complex NCS and Needle EMG studies.
A large number of EEGs are performed at the department. The post holder alone will be responsible for reporting EEGs, but within 18 months, another Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology will complete her studies and return to the unit to take part in the responsibilities.
There is a variety of evoked potential work carried out in the department (visual, auditory, somatosensory) which the post holder would report.
