Engineering  Electrical Engineering  Converter & High VoltageConverter Control department consist of a highly specialized and dedicated engineering team developing all converter control and software functionalities for all Vestas turbines. Though our core knowledge, we provide first in class converter solutions meeting product, system and grid requirements.
Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the technical tasks/solutions in different projects and actively work with the converter team and other stakeholders.
  • Take ownership for ensuring the product life cycle configuration from start to field deployment based on the development of a cross platform, converter product configuration model architecture.
  • You will have the responsibility to develop and ensure automatic qualification of the system configuration.
  • You will guide team members and colleagues on sub-level configurations.
  • You will have software development tasks, as part of the Converter software application development team, which lays out converter requirements, owns converter software design and performs software development, product configuration, test and verification.
  • You will engage in that the feedback from the field, product and customer requirements is translated into new features, functionality development and improvements to existing converter control software. 
  • You will participate and interact with Vestas software integration team and stakeholders to ensure development of the embedded software.
  • Your interactions will ensure that the converter functions and variants are correctly configured and integrated upwards.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor of Engineering. Preferable in one of the following or similar disciplines: Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering. 
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience in software and product development for system include HW and SW interaction (e.g. State machine design, supervision, monitoring, configuration).
  • Have good system and modular development understanding.
  • Good SW architectural understanding, and able to perform software design, development and debugging independently. 
  • Experienced in C or/and C++. 
  • Experienced with Configuration Management Tool Configit is further an advantage.
  • Knowledge of scripting language such as Python and/or Matlab is an advantage.
  • Familiar with software Change Management and Continuous Integration.

Competencies

  • Systematical and structured way of working.
  • Highly independent and self-initiated to learn.
  • Highly skilled in problem solving, analysis and software debugging.
  • Can abstract from details when needed.
  • Experience in defining functional specification, conduct system validation and prepare technical documentations.
  • Good communication skills both to internal team and to external stakeholders.
  • Being skilled in estimating tasks and communicate with project managers are preferred.
  • Process oriented and product life cycle understanding.
  • Team player and able to work well in a multi-cultural environment.
