Then you could be the successful candidate for our Data Engineer role supporting the Supply Chain Optimisation department.

The position

As our new Data Engineer, you will support the development and professionalisation of our data foundation in Clinical Supplies (CS). In close cooperation with three systems developers, you will be the crucial part of understanding and developing our data for use in the clinical supply chain. We are ready to take the next step on our data journey, employing the best frameworks for using data in our department’s future.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and datasets. Extracting, transforming and loading data from the various data sources, integrating data transfers between internal and external systems and applications.
  • Developing processes to ensure and validate data reliability and quality.
  • Understanding the business stakeholders and business problems and apply your knowledge to deliver the outcomes.
  • Collaborating with developers and business analysts on developing novel ways of leveraging data to create business value.

  • Supporting users (our CS colleagues) in technical matters related to our data.
  • Being an Agile team player, coordinating with business analysts, product owners and developers on new project initiatives.
  • As we are a small department, we expect you to take broad responsibility in the development and maintenance of our data foundation, and you will have a significant impact on the choice of which tools we will use and solutions developed.

    This role is based in Måløv, Denmark.

    Qualifications

  • Masters Degree (MSc) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 2 -5 years of working experience with data modelling and leveraging of large volumes of data.
  • Advanced skills in data querying, ETL tools and data warehousing solutions, SQL or similar relational databases, Big data frameworks Hadoop, Spark, etc.
  • Dealing with large and complex data sets and performance tuning
  • Comprehensive understanding of data science/management, business processes and technology trends within this function.
  • It will be considered an advantage if you have experience with: 

  • NoSQL databases (e.g. HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • At-least one programming language - preferably C#
  • Cloud Services (Azure DevOps, Amazon etc.)
  • Version control systems - preferably Git
  • On a personal level you are curious, thrive from helping colleagues, you work independently, deliver high quality, keep calm and focused under pressure and keep deadlines. You are fluent in Danish and English both written and spoken.

    About the department

    Before a drug is approved for market use, drug candidates are tested in clinical trials. CS is responsible for delivering drugs for Novo Nordisk’s clinical trials around the world.

    Supply Chain Optimisation is a department of 13 colleagues who work across CS and beyond and directly link to CS Management. Our role is to carry out strategic initiatives optimising the clinical supply chain. We are responsible for data, IT systems, and tools used for supply chain management, e.g., simulation of demand in clinical trials, pack and distribution planning, and clinical trial activities.

    Our way of working is informal and ambitious at the same time. We work in close cooperation with Line of Business, the users of our solutions, and our approach to internal IT development is Agile. Our ambition in CS is to become fully digitalised. We want to obtain this by digitalising and using data.
