Do you have a legal background with extensive knowledge of data protection, and do you want a central role in a data protection team, where you will be responsible for advising, guiding and supporting in relation to the regulatory requirements and with the opportunity to influence handling of personal information in BEC - a large player in the financial sector - then this is the job for you.

We are looking for an experienced data protection officer ready to share and grow
You will be based at BEC Roskilde, approx. 30 minutes rush hour drive from central Copenhagen, in the GDPR function, which is part of the Legal & Compliance team in BEC, which employs 17 highly skilled staff members. You will be our primary contact point for the Danish Data Protection Agency, and you will be frequently involved in dialogues with BEC's customers (financial institutions) regarding BEC’s processing of their personal information (primarily information on their customers).

Primary tasks and responsibilities
In the position as DPO, your primary tasks will consist of advising and guiding BEC in data protection regulation, including i.e., assistance in interpreting legislation as well as advice on risk and impact assessments, etc. Together with your GDPR colleagues, you will have a central role in ensuring that BEC is compliant in the data privacy area in connection with e.g., system procurements, data processing policies and processing of personal data by BEC in general.

You will have a leading role in among other things:

Informing and advising the BEC management and the executive board in connection with data protection (management reporting).

- Informing and advising all BEC employees on data protection obligations.

- Responsible for monitoring data protection compliance in accordance with BEC data protection policies, including division of responsibilities, awareness raising, and training of staff involved in processing activities and related audits.

- Giving advice in connection with impact assessments of data protection.

- Cooperation with and reporting to the Data Protection Agency.

We are looking for you who love to explore and learn!
Preferably, you have a legal degree at Master level and a few years of relevant experience from preferably the financial industry, or another regulated sector.
