Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for an Data Scientist to join our relatively new department, Analytics, who is based on the lean-startup mindset within our organization. We are building a web-based analytics platform for our utility customers, to enable our clients to reduce the waste of energy and water globally. The software we are building, is designed cloud native and service based, using the Azure platform. You will become a part of our cross-functional development department, consisting of 25 people divided in 4 squads. Part of the department is placed in Malaga. We strive to do highly agile development, have an experimental approach to how we work and focus on knowledge sharing.

As a Data Scientist, your mission is to contribute, innovate and develop our analytics service platform. Kamstrup has a long tradition for developing highly intelligent energy and water meters . The main objectives in your job will be to enable utilities to optimize the production and distribution of energy and water, by combining meter and sensor data from the grid into meaningful insights that. We develop our analytics platform together with our most innovative customers and partners around the world. A team of software developers are working closely together with our data science team to transform the results form experimentation into working and saleable solutions.

You will be offered a role in our existing data science team and get the chance to focus your efforts on creating analytics offerings mainly for our district heating replans customers with business area.

To succeed in the job, it is essential that you have a solid understanding of mathematics and physics used in the utility sector. You have experience with the following programming technologies:

  • R code
  • Python
  • Azure databricks
  • Git
  • GIS tools

Personality matters
As a person, you are curious about the data science, the utility sector and wants to learn. You manage to access and prepare your test data and you are able to write software that transform your ideas into working prototypes. You are able to set your own goals and plan your work, but sharing learnings and asking for feedback is a natural thing for you. You are pragmatic and learn from experimentation, and you manage to put your analytical data science skills into action in the right balance. Preferably you have 5 years of experience with creating analytics solutions for the energy and water business within green tech, and your foundation is a university degree (Master or Ph.D.) in physics, mathematics or similar. You have a solid understanding of the physics used in the utility sector and preferably have experience with fluid dynamics, flow measurement, hydraulic models, thermodynamics, etc. The job requires fluency in written and spoken English and Danish will be an advantage.
