Design Lead, Copenhagen

About this opportunity

This unique experience provides you with the responsibility to lead a design team to ideate, design and implement an innovative design vision for our Nordic wide digital products and services. We are looking for someone who can weave together the business, customer and design vision into inspiring solutions that excites our customers.

This means that you will partner with the Head of CX & Design and Design management team, to build the vision and priorities. To also translate and evolve that vision with the design community, rapidly test with customers and business experts before it goes out into the hands of our customers.

We are also looking for someone that is just as inspired to improve things for our team, as well as for our customers. As you know, design and design thinking are essential in building impactful experiences and we want your expertise and passion to help us bring design practices into the agile delivery model and, eventually, to the rest of Nordea.

Overall, your focus areas will include:

  • Partnering with the Head of CX & Design to align the CX strategy and the business vision                     
  • Leading and nurturing a design team
  • Working with the designers and illustrators to shape, evolve and approve innovative designs, assuring they adhere to our design DNA
  • Partnering with our Customer Behaviour Insights team to research, test designs and incorporate customer feedback into solutions
  • Working with senior leaders, designers and delivery teams to implement an iconic design experience, across a large-scale agile program
  • Building capabilities and knowledge within the design team/community on the latest tools and techniques, customer needs, behaviour and perceptions, as well as business and industry drivers

The role is based in Copenhagen.

We are also looking for a person that is genuinely interested in mentoring and nurturing other designers to help them grow within the team and their individual skillsets.

You will be one of the architects responsible for creating a significant impact on our people and customers, so you must also have a creative mindset, an understanding of what drives our customers and our business and knowledge of what is technically possible. You will also be leading a team, collaborating with a diverse set of specialists and working with senior leaders regularly, so your capabilities must also include the ability to facilitate innovation, as well as the ability to both inspire and influence people across various areas and levels of the organisation with strong stakeholder management, and clear communication skills.

Your experience and background:

  • A degree in human computer interaction, digital design, e-business or a similar background
  • Many years of experience within user interface design, usability, design research and data-driven design  
  • Experience in leading and building design teams
  • Experience in leading people and building communities
  • Strong experience understanding and changing customer behaviour
  • Great interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in communicating in English 
  • Development for omni channel experiences
  • Passion to create a big change that will touch people’s lives
