Director for Front-End Innovation in LEGO® Education

Can you deliver NEW, highly appealing and playful learning solutions that will engage and impact more students and teachers every year?

We are looking for a creative concept/business strategist and practitioner, that in high performance and multicompetence TEAMWORK can drive forward new playful learning solutions in an organization with many interdependencies and stakeholders.The right person will be able to apply different viewpoints at different development stages and will know how to be anchored in broader portfolio and real business needs. Our quest is to develop the best learning experiences, while never abandoning the spirit of play.

The Job

This global role has a strong and predominant focus on the North American educational market and it requires close collaboration within the front-end team as well as across different internal/external stakeholders. Main responsibilities include:

• On-going assessment and progression of LEGO Education portfolio strategy

• Grow new in-sights and combine with existing knowledge and market trends to inspire and guide our development work. Basically, translating in-sights into actionable ideas and portfolio value.

• Being the business light tower for the team, building conceptual relevance and contributing to the early and late development phases, from blue sky to assortment and user experience journeys, brand architecture, positioning and go-to-market dynamics such as pricing and distribution channel strategy

• Developing and curating our external partner collaborations, ensuring mutual value creation – and in close collaboration with our Partners and Playful learning team in Boston.

You will preferably be based at our headquarters in Billund in Denmark, with some travel activity to North America. Alternatively, you can be based at our office in Boston, and travel to Billund on a regular basis.

About You

Your Experience

• You are a passionate education industry specialist with a strong business understanding from the North American market

• You bring 5+ years´ experience in marketing, leading and managing strategic and complex projects from the front-end development to the in-market implementation

• You have worked with digital/physical product development and understand the full value chain, from idea to finished commercial solution (sourcing, production, distribution, logistics, positioning, pricing, communications, etc.)

You as a person

• You have the entrepreneurial drive needed to get things done

• You communicate enthusiastically and effectively

• You listen carefully with both ears and collaborate brilliantly

• You are comfortable being in uncomfortable and uncertain “terrain”
