Tasks & responsibilities: You will…

…lead the Engineering department and ensure the department objectives are met. You will be responsible for developing Engineering as a technical competence centre which can cover a wide range of technical aspects within turbine technologies. 

Engineering consist of three technical teams; Electrical, Mechanical and Blades - which you will develop and ensure that they meet the stakeholders’ requirements of technical contribution and problem-solving. 

You will report to the Head of Technical Management and be responsible for: 

  • Root cause analysis and improvements of technical issues of turbines in operation
  • Interact in the design phase of new product development to ensure the specialists’ operational experience is brought into new designs
  • Review of customers’ technical requirements the sales phase
  • Stakeholder management, this includes ongoing alignment with stakeholders 
  • Lead and support your employees and develop the teams
  • Constantly improve processes and collaboration to support smooth execution of the department’s responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a department game plan
  • Monitor and execute department KPIs
  • Resource allocation/task prioritisation in cooperation with employees/team leads/managers

 

Skills & experience: Our new colleague…

You hold, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in engineering combined with a leadership/management education. To succeed in this position, you must have strong stakeholder management skills combined with an emphatic and delegating leadership style.

Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering degree – preferably in Mechanical or Production Engineering combined with several years of experience of project management, preferable within product development 
  • You have documented experience with project management of complex projects with multiple stakeholders and suppliers 
  • You have insight in and the ability to work along the entire value chain
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in related position
  • Firm knowledge in assembly processes and factory setups

Competencies

You have some manufacturing and assembly skills, insights/experiences, and the ability to define concepts and implement these in close collaboration with the business.

Personal competences: 

  • You have documented experience with technical project management of complex projects with multiple stakeholders and suppliers

  • Design for assembly: Ability to understand criticality in assembly steps, able to see issues with assembly at an early design phase where design is still on paper.
  • Design for manufacturing: Be able to take a component and simplify it.
