Tasks & responsibilities: You will…

…lead the Engineering department and ensure the department objectives are met. You will be responsible for developing Engineering as a technical competence centre which can cover a wide range of technical aspects within turbine technologies. 

Engineering consist of three technical teams; Electrical, Mechanical and Blades - which you will develop and ensure that they meet the stakeholders’ requirements of technical contribution and problem-solving. 

You will report to the Head of Technical Management and be responsible for: 

  • Root cause analysis and improvements of technical issues of turbines in operation
  • Interact in the design phase of new product development to ensure the specialists’ operational experience is brought into new designs
  • Review of customers’ technical requirements the sales phase
  • Stakeholder management, this includes ongoing alignment with stakeholders 
  • Lead and support your employees and develop the teams
  • Constantly improve processes and collaboration to support smooth execution of the department’s responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a department game plan
  • Monitor and execute department KPIs
  • Resource allocation/task prioritisation in cooperation with employees/team leads/managers

You hold, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in engineering combined with a leadership/management education. You join BEUMER Group at our offices in Aarhus, Denmark, to manage the mechanical integration systems for Logistic and Airport projects. Project work from design to commissioning
As mechanical project engineer, you will have a versatile job in an international and multidisciplinary environment. As part of a project organization with responsibility for the mechanical design, you will manage many stakeholders and ensure a lean process and high quality throughout the project.You will be responsible for the mechanical system layout and make sure that the solutions meet the specifications and comply with our internal design rules. You are involved from the design phase to the commissioning of the system onsite with the customer.Your tasks will include:

  • Preparation of specifications on requirements, clarification of mechanical and electrical interfaces to other system parts and risk assessments and CE marking
  • System layouts including compliance with required system capacities, redundancy, flow etc.
  • Responsibility for sub-supplier technical purchase specifications and delivery on-site, for bill of materials for manufacturing as well as for test and installation documentation
  • Idea and concept generation on project specific solutions
  • Managing, planning and coordinating sub-tasks and sub-projects for a team of technical designers
  • Site-support during installation and commissioning

This is a role where you need to bring ability and ambition. You want to develop your competencies in a very international environment, to where you talk with people from all over the world. Your team are in Aarhus, but we work together with our 27 group companies worldwide.We need you to be outgoing, possess good communication skills, and be fluent in English. Last but not least, you are able to stay focused on details, results and deadlines.

  • You hold a mechanical engineering degree or similar
  • You have 3+ years of project experience with responsibility for the mechanical design
  • You have hands-on experience with Navis Works, AutoCAD and a strong 3D understanding
  • Knowledge about conveyor systems and steel constructions is an advantage generally, system integration solutions in particular
  • You are familiar with the machinery directive
