Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity be part of shaping the future of sustainable transport and logistics globally. The organisation is looking for a progressive and innovative leader to revitalise the businesses approach to sustainability and EHS. This key hire will help set the sustainability strategy and drive the implementation of a strengthened market leading ESG framework including group-wide improvements, development of governance systems, development of appropriate ESG KPIs, continuous improvement plans and overall cultural approach to EHS matters.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Creating, executing and monitoring TIP’s global ESG sustainability strategy
  • Creating an ESG framework
  • Develop ESG KPIs including in partnership with TIP leadership for lenders
  • Manage sustainability reporting including UN Global Compact reporting and other ESG reporting to our stakeholder and the market
  • Manage compliance with ESG KPIs (UN, lenders, Shareholders etc.), including but not limited to, define baselines for energy & waste consumption and ambitions targets to reduce over the coming 5 years.
  • Develop short and midterm reporting for the ESG framework manually and/or with an automated system. Work with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leadership and local teams across the TIP group.
  • Management of a global EHS team
  • The role would be reporting to the COO and managing the global EHS team.

    Accountabilities include amongst others:

  • Creation and implementation of the global TIP ESG strategic plan in partnership with leadership with targets and deliverables set short-mid-long term.
  • Social impact program design, oversight, and implementation leveraging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder sustainability reporting including but not limited to annual reporting to the UN Global Compact and wider reports via the TIP Sustainability Report and independent reports.
  • Coordinate with social impact and green initiative partners for program implementation and reporting.
  • Establishing data-driven ESG goals, milestones and metrics, create business cases, manage budgets, support the development and resourcing of impact initiatives.
  • Lead climate change mitigation project to drive CO2 reduction and recyclables. Develop “the GREEN location of the future”, design efficient energy consumption model linked to renewable solutions and a strict waste management policy including processes to support these policies. Complete the necessary proof of concept and cost benefit analysis to prepare 5-year implementation plan.
  • Develop, monitor and report on KPIs linked with “Green funding” finance programs.
  • Maintain awareness of global ESG trends and tools, metrics, KPIs, prepare internal communications in partnership with marketing, and share updates and implications with broader team.
  • Serve as TIP’s global 'go to' expert for sustainability and environmental topics, communicating and educating others in-line with company strategy.
  • Represent TIP as a sustainability expert at market events and other strategic initiatives to position TIPs sustainability credentials.
  • Interacting with public stakeholders on the topic of sustainability including exploring collaboration opportunities and grant funding possibilities for R&D projects. Maintain a working knowledge of EU Green finance taxonomy and other relevant sustainability regulation globally.
  • Interact with external private stakeholders and wider market participants on the topics of sustainability including ESG/EHS. Further to the extent relevant explore strategic sustainability collaboration opportunities with wider market.
  • Leading the EHS team and responsible to ensure our employees are well trained & equipped to lead safety compliance and keep themselves safe.
  • Leads the vision, develops strategic direction, projects & execution of all our environmental & safety programs.
  • Prepare and deliver annual EHS strategy, project plans & training programs. Identify EHS requirement and possible risk. Prepare budgets for Region.
  • Leadership of ESG and EHS TIP policies, procedures, and compliance within all countries within the region and in accordance with the local legal. Requirements. Preparing and providing policies in accordance with TIP procedures and format.
  • Manage EHS governance systems.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Sustainability, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Several years relevant experience and a proven track record in implementing corporate sustainability programs on a global scale.
  • Strong leadership skills including; energetic, ambitious, authentic, process driven, clear vision.
  • Demonstrable experience in business and operational transformations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape in Europe and North America around sustainability, energy and carbon reduction. Working knowledge of carbon footprint inventory and accounting preferred.
  • Analytical skills to assess and interpret large volumes of data.
  • A collaborative approach and experience working with cross-functional teams. You know how to work with and get buy in from diverse stakeholders, and ideally, have already done so in an international company.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion.
  • A resilience mindset, the ability to find creative solutions to problems and challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills. You can communicate up and down the organisation and with external stakeholders. Your English is fluent, and an additional language is an advantage.
