EHS Senior Specialist - Chemistry, Biologics and Biosafety Expert

As we continue to enhance and expand our capabilities, we are looking for an EHS Senior Specialist who shares our passion, drive, and energy – what we call Genki – to join our team.

The current organization in Hillerød is approximately 800 employees and will grow significantly as we invest DKK 6 billion in capacity and capability expansions over the coming years. The site will over the coming years receive new molecules for production where EHS plays a role in the transfer of molecules to the site.

About the department

You will join a team of dedicated EHS Specialists supporting the site on all areas in Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability. Your role in the team will be to build knowledge on Chemicals, Biologics and Biosafety to enable the site to receive new molecules for production in compliance with regulations.

The EHS team is a diverse team who work closely together – each contributing within their area of expertise to make continuous improvements at the site. The team engages the site on all levels in the organization where you will work collaboratively with your EHS colleagues as well as other parts of the organization.

About the role

You will have responsibility for running programs to ensure compliance and development of programs in terms of chemical and biological safety. This is carried out within the framework of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards implemented in the EHS Management System.

You will be responsible for Tech Transfers from an EHS perspective evaluating chemicals, materials and production methods from early requests to production including ensuring permit applications to relevant authorities.

Furthermore you will

  • develop and drive chemical and biological exposure assessments and evaluation of controls to ensure safety for the employees at the site including development, execution and evaluation of training.
  • be the primary EHS contact person for laboratory areas of the site to coach and drive proactive health and safety in these areas.
  • drive initiatives cross-functionally at the site within the framework of the EHS mission and vision
  • manage established contracts including allocation of funds and take an active role in defining projects including financial needs for the future within the team.



You have a Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent. Preferably Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and several years of experience from an EHS function working with chemicals, biologics, REACH and/or GMO.

We are looking for someone who can carry out the tasks with little need for direction and able to ensure that site priorities and EHS priorities are balanced in dialogue with Head of EHS.

  • able to impact on all levels of the organization and thus the ability to adapt the message according to the audience
