Electrical Engineer to the R&D Department


Nel Hydrogen A/S There are currently 77 employees and Nel Hydrogen expects to maintain a strong growth in the coming years. The organization is dynamic, and the culture is informal with flexibility as a key word.
The company is a frontrunner when it comes to the development of hydrogen fuel stations used for the refueling of hydrogen vehicles. The market for hydrogen stations will maintain its growth in the coming years, as large-scale production of hydrogen cars will be launched in 2018 – 2019.

About the R&D Department and the Position
As Nel Hydrogen projects includes a wide range of technics, the R&D organization is organized in several technical teams:

  • Project and documentation team
  • Process team
  • Electrical team
  • Mechanical team
  • CAD team
  • Software team
  • Test team

  • Projects follow the Nel Hydrogen product development process and will have technical sponsors from the rest of the R&D Department - to secure input for specifications.

    While projects are coordinated by Project Managers the technical teams are responsible for the development of the design packages.

    Within the Electrical team, the new Electrical Engineer will be the technical responsible for the development of electrical design packages. In addition to this new Employee there is one other experienced Electrical Engineer in the Team.

    You participate in the development, the documentation and the test of equipment, ranging from the simple to extremely complex systems.

    Further you are familiar with and understand the overall electrical system in the product and hold the overview that helps identifying and solves problems that may occur in the product.

    Requirements:
  • Knows the scope of electrical development
  • Ensure when the overall basic electrical specifications are fulfilled
  • Support/perform electrical testing of module to verify specification compliance
  • Specify electrical cabinet production and interact with Electrical panel shop subcontractors
  • Have the following technical experience with:
  • Electrical diagram design regarding Power voltage up to 480V, Low voltage signal management including 4-20mA loops, relays, PLC I/O arrangement, Terminal blocks, physical layout optimization
  • Define optimized design between remote I/O versus centralized PLC
  • Defined electrical design of Ethernet networks
  • Preferably practical knowledge with ATEX protections: Exi, Exe, Exd to develop optimized design meet predefined ATEX zonage requirements
  • Preferably practical knowledge with EU directives and US standards regarding Electrical design

  • Qualifications:
  • You have more than 5 years of experience in electrical design and testing
  • Educated as Electrical Engineer or Electrical Commissioning Engineer
  • As a person openminded and able to interact with other team members
  • Result oriented and knows how important it is to follow up on deliverables, ensuring that everything runs according to plans
  • Able to motivate yourself and able to encourage other team members
  • Comfortable with participating in- or being the lead in meetings where your project is discussed
  • Able to describe electrical design using See-Electrical
  • Able to develop technical documentation using MS-Office software
