Embedded Linux Software Developer
For their Danish location in Nivå, CLAAS E-Systems is searching for a skilled and experienced Embedded Linux Software Engineer.
About the job:
As part of CLAAS E-Systems’ expanding development team in Nivå, you will contribute to development of innovative new functionality targeting automation and optimization of farming machinery.
You will play a key role in bridging the gap between software and hardware, enabling application developers to access and utilize platform features and devices optimally. Claas’ area of expertise lies within machine vision based on 2D/3D sensor technology and its application onto everyday farming challenges – from ideation to deployment of the final product at their partners and customers.
You will be interacting with technologies and frameworks such as C/C++/Python, Linux kernel/device drivers/applications, V4L2, GPU/NPU, Yocto, Git, etc.
Your responsibilities:
- Development of software modules in C/C++ for Linux-based embedded devices and machine vision systems
- Design and documentation of software architecture and interfaces
- Configuration and maintenance of software builds using CMake, including integration of third-party libraries
- Development and maintenance of Linux BSP using YOCTO for in-house embedded processing platform
- Bridging the gaps between embedded hardware devices, device drivers and application software in a Linux environment
- Development and maintenance of automated tests and test setups
- Participation in field-tests of embedded systems, nationally as well as internationally
- Consultation with internal stakeholders to determine the scope of and requirements to development projects
Your qualifications:
- B.Sc., M.Sc. or similar degree in computer science
- Strong proficiency in embedded Linux software development using C and C++
- Extensive hands-on experience with development and maintenance of software on embedded devices
- Strong knowledge of and familiarity with Linux and relevant command line tools
- Experience with embedded systems, real-time environments and low-level hardware interactions
- Experience with automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Experience with versioning control using Git and Git flows
- Knowledge of optical sensor technologies such as camera, LIDAR or radar considered a plus
- Fluent in spoken and written English

Since Claas’ headquarter is located in Dissen am Teutoburger Wald in Germany, you should expect limited travel activities from time to time.
