We are currently seeking an outstanding Senior Manager Regulatory Science & Advocacy (EMEA focus) F/M to join a global team reporting to the Head of Regulatory Science & Advocacy, one of the key functions in our DuPont N&B RAPS organization.

The role can be located at one of our office locations in the Netherlands (Leiden), Denmark (Copenhagen or Brabrand) or France (Paris).

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

- Be the EMEA regional regulatory advocacy business partner for several N&B businesses and bio-innovation initiatives.
- Monitor changes in societal trends and pending regulations, evaluate and communicate regulatory and customer implications that represent risks and opportunities for current and new products, and identify the need for new regulatory advocacy initiatives.
- Develop/manage effective regulatory advocacy strategies and support global strategies to facilitate approval routes for new technology-driven products while defending regulatory status of existing portfolios
- Address complex regulatory science related questions from internal/external customers, initiating discussions to formulate positions and identify a path to solutions
- Establish / extend regulatory thought leadership position for N&B in defined areas of responsibility
- Interact with and educate regulatory agencies and trade associations to positively influence emerging regulations in defined areas of responsibility/expertise
- Collaborate with Global Regulatory Strategy Leads on regulatory acceptance for global product lines of interest, and with the EMEA Regulatory Affairs & Product Stewardship team on joint initiatives of importance to the region.

Job Qualifications 

BS in life sciences or related field with 15+ years’ combined food/bio-innovation & regulatory experience or MS with 12+ years’ relevant experience or PhD with 8+ years relevant experience.


Knowledge of regulatory requirements for general food, food contact and/or food biotechnology products in the EU, and knowledge of scientific methodology in general
Awareness of societal and regulatory sensitivities to chemicals, science, and (bio)technology in the context of agri-food innovation
Proven track record of successful regulatory approvals and/or of influencing regulations/regulators in one or more relevant areas (food, feed, chemicals)
Proven ability to establish and influence networks utilizing thought leadership
Successfully impacted product innovation and/or product compliance by successfully influencing company decisions
Leadership role(s) in trade association(s)
Demonstrated ability to gain internal alignment on issues and effectively advocate company position externally
Demonstrated strong influence on the success of future products/processes, and forming influence on a team (can be in non-technical/scientific manner)
Successfully analyzed problems that require an in-depth understanding of underlying issues and of the organization
Consistent proactive & interpreting attitude towards clients’ issues and track record of being a strong team player.
Excellent skills in influencing and supporting others
Abstract conceptualization, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent project planning, management and communication skills.
Ability to function in multidisciplinary and virtual environment.
Ability to stay focused working in independent working environment

Excellent language skills in English (verbally, in writing, and in presentations), and preferably one other regional language.

Competency in computer/software tools needed for job.
